Why not just wait until you have it installed to post?

Can you read the part where I ask what to do with the key fob? There's your answer.

ive seen a few people move the key fob to the center console if that helps just reroute the wiring and make a few cuts in the center console

I rewired mine to be under my steering wheel, I can easily tuck it right behind so I can have access to it whenever and it's stored away from people's sight.

I can take pictures if you like, my car is in the shop right now but I'm picking it up in 1 hour.

Just a heads up,I'm doing the same this week. The nexus 7 wont charge unless asleep with a standard car charger, you need to do a mod on the cable and splice the 2 data wires in the data/charging cable to get it to charge in a usable state. The 2 wires are the white and green on the tablet side, that fools the tablet into thinking its being charged by the AC adapter.

PS:I also had to root and run in tabui so it would run natively in landscape mode.

Oh crappy, wasn't aware of the whole charging thing. Thanks for the heads up...as for the landscape mod I already have that figured out...don't remember what im using but it works just fine. Still waiting on the bezel but if you do urs before me let me know how it goes...im also gonna try to see if its possible to mod the bezel where I can take the tablet out when I choose to do so with ease

me too

I am doing this install too. I did not root to get into landscape mode I just installed APEX Launcher and turned off the lock screen. It works great. As for the charger issue I found this:

Scosche

Scosche is a pretty good company, I think this charger is properly wired for the Nexus, they have 2 versions of this charger one that has the "T" logo on it and a generic one. I am pretty sure the one with the "T" logo is setup for the nexus or galaxy tab wiring. I will let you know when I receive the charger. Otherwise my install is done right now (everything but the charger) by the way the tablet is SWEET..

I had a tablet install before with a generic tablet and type A bezel (installed about a year ago) it is upgrade time and they type B bezel I just put is looks WAY better. I will be posting pics of the install soon. and I will post results with the charger as soon as it gets here.

BTRcc, Custom Magnaflow, Injen, ARK, Grimmspeed, TB coolant bypass, Tint, KPR, Sarona, FlyRyde, Nexus 7.

it works

The charger in my previous post was waiting for me when i got home. Ordered Sunday and delivered Tuesday... not bad.. The more important thing is that IT WORKS. It is wired to fool the tablet into thinking it is plugged into a A/C charger. about 30 mins from now my tablet install with the Nexus 7 will be complete

Here is a pic of the battery status screen when the tablet is plugged into the car charger.

Its the charger that is internally wired differently. Basically they finally got smart and shorted the same wire as the previous poster was talking about but they just did it inside the charger itself. Use your stock cable with this charger and it should work (it is wired the same way as the AC adapter so the tablet cant tell the difference). I just installed about 20 mins ago and yes the % is increasing. so far so good. leaving my car in the accessory position to watch it charge

done =)

Used tasker to set up the automation. Screen comes on when I turn on the car and stays on and when I turn off the car the screen automatically times out in 7 seconds and the tablet goes into airplane mode to save battery. Gotta love tasker.. Have Torque and GPS running too. had some fun playing with the background and the icon packs. Charged all the way up to 100% from 73% in about 30 mins. I stole that background image off here from somewhere. lol
