Default Snapped the sunroof controller

So on my way back from dinner tonight, I decided to open the sunroof. I toggled with the control a bit while driving, and SNAP -- the plastic piece comes right off. It's broken in multiple pieces, so it's not like it'll just snap back on.

That's a grand total of about 5 days of ownership before I managed to break something.

That thing is pretty glitchy for me as well. I press it and nothing happens. I don't think its the sunroof, I think it's the switch.

I always try and tinker with things before I take it the dealership. I think it's an easy fix.

In your case, they can probably just order the plastic switch and you can pop it on yourself.

This happened to me yesterday. I had the sunroof in the vent position and went to pull down on the switch to close it, and it snapped. I didn't even pull down that hard..

Any idea if the warranty covers this? I have 16k miles on the car.

The dealership will probably replace it free for you. It's a cheap part, and if they know it's a common issue it's probably easier for them to just replace it than to argue with you. Never hurts to ask...

Same exact thing happened to me. It's covered under warranty. My dealer ordered it a week ago and I'm just waiting for the phonecall saying it's there.

Mine was also fixed at no charge. Watch out, the sunglasses holder won't stay up once you break that switch.

When I got my car back, though, there was a nice fresh gash in the lower-left of the front bumper. So, my dealership got to have their body shop fix it for me for free

All's well now, though. Except I need to go get some bubbles out of my tint.

Mine just snapped off today. I'm pretty sure i touch the switch less than 20 times so far... They really need to work on Interior QUALITY.

i don't think anyone would be so stingy to argue you over something that is worth $4 or less for a plastic piece that doesn't take more than 5s to pop back in.

Agree! well everything in general. If Hyundai up their quality build, especially interior, then I'm sure Toyota would be out of the pic.

Mine was fixed under warranty.
They replaced the whole assembly.
They are not going to keep little plastic parts in stock.
Now I am very gentle when I close it cause I doubt they reinforced it.

They replaced my entire assembly as well. I can't remember the exact price, but it was around $200. Warranty covered it though.

Mine literally crumbled in my hand. Nothing the dealership is going to do to "resolve" the issue, so I just put it back together myself, and used some epoxy to assure it didn't come apart again. Much better now.

My sunglass holder has trouble staying closed as it is. Took me 4-5 times of closing it gently to get it to stay last time. I'm afraid to touch it now and my sunroof switch hasn't had any issues thus far.

Lol. Broke mine off today, as I was pulling out of the dealership to have outside door handle replaced.
