Default LED strip on car door

Has anyone attempted to put LED strips on the driver and passenger side doors, so that when you open the door they would light up? My friend did his IS250 and after seeing it, I wanted to do it.

I'd prefer to have the inside light up, no reason to light up the outside when you're getting in. Also, I think KAI sells those "GENESIS" running boards that are LED.

The running boards look nice I think its prob the better solution to getting light by the doors. The other option is to do footwell lights which turn out to be plenty of light.

Thats pretty nice, i was thinking about that too, but it would be hard to hook it up.
Like. i want that on when i open the door, even if i didnt start my car.
And should shut off when i close the door.

I found small led strip at auto zone costs like 25 bucks, maybe put that on door panel?
Then where does the wire go? Cigar ligh?

Yeah! that's exactly how I want mine set up too. See on my friends IS250 they have the door lights so he just wired it to that so when the doors open they light up and when they close they turn off, and on our gc's, we have reflectors (lame). I'm still in the process of figuring it out lol. You should check out iJDMtoy.com when you get the chance.

I decided not to go with the LED's on the door. Instead i just installed 1" led strips as footwells, which is perfect for me when im drving at night, i dont get blinded...

REpalce the reflectors with led light and run the wire up to the dome lights
then they turn on when you open the doors and off when you shut them
the hardest part would be to run the wire there.

Genuine, aren't you in the LA area? Check out my gallery and you can see what I had done with mine. I'm going to get the kick panel that the 13's have once they become available so that the "GENESIS" lights up also, same color.

Yes sir. But I decided not to go thru with it. I did check out your gallery. Lovin the 12" sub setup you got. It's very clean. I want something similar like that, except with 2 10" Alpine Type-R's.
