Default Back-Up Camera

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to hook up a back-up camera to work off of the Track's Navigation display? I was thinking that since the sedans have it, it wouldn't bee too crazy...

try asking your dealer, see what kind of response they give you lol. I asked about having the backup sensor installed onto my track for the hell of it when I was picking up my plates, they said i'd have to ask the service guys, i didn't bother.

popular mechanics had a great article on this last month I think. Camera is wireless and plugs into your reverse lights. When reverse engaged it sends a wireless signal to the rearview mirror which has a screen in it, money setup.

I think it is very doable. Since the navigation systems are pretty much the same throughtout the hyundai and kia lines(my brothers kia optima which has rear camera hookup).

If it is the same then most likely our navi units have to input to receive video.

probably buy a rear camera unit like 2009-11 Hyundai Genesis CCD NTSC Car Rear View Backup Reverse Waterproof Camera | eBay

This looks really promising. Any idea how one would hook it up though?

Another forum here had some pretty interesting information about getting the HU to work with a backup cam. I'm sure progress will be made sooner than later

Here is the NAV wiring schematic from techinfo. Hopefully someone else has the knowledge and balls to get a camera hooked up to this thing.

im hoping im on to something. our radio is very similar to those on the elantras (which have camera system). from the hyundaitechinfo site and comparing the pinouts for the genesis coupe and elantras yields the same pinouts except for camera input, camera voltage, video ground and power ground. They are not labeled for the gencoupe therefore not populated on the harness. ill report back when i can procure a camera and see if our radio takes the inputs.

the pins in question are on connector A, pins 2, 3,4 and 11. there is an R position already populated on our cars on pin 9.

Unless your a woman, old as dirt, an inexperienced driver, or just plain lazy I don't see why you would waste the time, money, and possibility of you wasting another thread asking how to fix something because you f***ed something up in the process..

Who and what are you talking about?

If me, i already disassembld my center console no issues. Im trying
add a feature that i want (not need) with minimal effort possible. If this works, i plan on sharing it with the community.

I placed it above the license plate. You can angle the camera to give you a good line of site.

Maybe one of the site sponsors can figure this out and sell a kit. I'd buy it.
