New Product: SoCal GarageWorks Genesis Steering Wheel

I've been following this company for a little while and after e-mailing them regarding making new steering wheels for us, they've come through and started making some stuff for us:

https://scgarageworks.com/product/ge...uilt-your-way/

Very excited to one day get my hands on one of these.

Man, this is exactly what I need as the leather on my wheel is wrinkled for some reason even though it only has 45k miles. I may be crazy, but $550 seems really steep to rewrap a steering wheel doesn't it? Even with the D-Cut

I don't think it's a simple re-wrap though.. I think they have to bend the metal in the actual wheel for the D shape. Nevertheless, from the pictures I've seen so far (instagram) it's a pretty wicked looking piece

Oh yeah, I agree that it looks pretty wicked. I just look at the OEM wheel and how little material is on it, as well as that you need to provide your own wheel or pay an extra $100 and I'm trying to see where the $550 comes from. I'm sure its a quality part, this is just my personal opinion. I'm not really a cheap ass like many GC owners, but I also don't always like paying more than I have to. In some situations I don't mind, but I usually reserve that for performance parts :-p

For like $350-$400 I could see it being decent value. But at $550 you are even out pricing some of the premium aftermarket brands. I guess you pay for the convenience of keeping OEM functionality.

I do hope they sell a bunch though as anyone bringing more parts to the GC is always welcome.

I just saw some pics of this steering wheel on Facebook! Pictures look fantastic and keeping OEM function is always a bonus. Not sure if I would go suede or leather. If I wasn't tied up in the middle of a build I would likely get this done!

Love seeing new products come to the market for our GC!

You're right - 550 is a little steep, and it's even more for your Canadian neighbours (right now, it's about 730$) so it's hard to justify/swallow.
I'm hoping one day I can pick it up though.

Hopefully comes with instructions to install. Dont want a customer accidentally deploying the air bag.

I used to wrench for a living and removed many air bags while working on steering columbs, as long as the cars off and battery disconected there shouldent be any problems.

This is gorgeous, and would love to, but at that price it will be one of the last things I will do at some point. Looks like great work, though!

I just picked up a spare wheel to send them. I am guessing the cost comes from the bending and fusing the carbon fiber to the wheel. They are also going to fuse cf to the portion around my airbag and around the steering wheel controls. Will post pics when it is installed. Probably around May with their turnaround and such lol.

I love the look of this! I will definitely be scraping up some funds for one of these.

These steering wheels are so so sexy. I know the D-Cut would probably suck if you try and go sideways but still looks good. I like using my steering wheel controls for music.

If they cannot figure it out they should not do it themselves.

Very Nice!

I went with blue stitching and Red center Stripe (figured that would match the gauges).
