Arrow サイヤ人 不吉な SŪPĀ SINISTĀ Style Eyes

("shinisutaa" if you wanna be technical )
So after months of Photoshopping different headlight concepts for my Gen, I was finally blessed with... (wait for it)... THE ONE. (pause in silence for epicness).

Like the other designs, I set out to turn the concept into a reality. And I praise Jesus for making this one happen, because there were crazy bumps in the road. I'll spare you the details, but let me just say that I never want to work on headlights again Lol.

But real quick before we dive in, I just want to say thank you to Jay at Seoulful Racing for getting me the M&S eyelids, Mike at Import Shark for pointing me in the right direction on some items, and Chris from FlyRyde for helping me out with some top notch wiring and installation. It was great to work with him on this. I know he's been eager for me to start this thread, so he'll be adding some stuff.

EDIT: Here's some information about the build- Painting the high beam chamber black, of course, drastically reduces it's light output. However, seeing as I've only used my high beams a total of 5 times since I've owned the car (3 of them by accident lol) it's really no seriously loss to me. It is my theory though, that if I install a stupidly ridiculously unsafely bright HID bulb in that area, it just may be bright enough to output a light intensity comparable to that of the stock bulb. I may test this theory later on down the line.

As far as the angel eyes go, I originally set out to purchase the regular white-backed SMD rings, but there were some complications with getting these when we needed them, so Chris threw out the awesome suggestion that he paint a set of dual-colored angel eyes white and use those instead. I loved the idea, so we went with it.

The WHITE LED ring is hooked up to an independent toggle switch under the dash, so I can turn those on and off at my leisure. The ORANGE LED ring is hooked up to the turn signals and hazard signals. The KDM inner-modudule is hooked up to the parking lights as ORANGE only. So those remain static. It's all controlled with the OEM light switch, save the WHITE LED segment of the angel eyes.

So without further ado, I present Rizor-Epb's SŪPĀ SINISTĀ Style Eyes...

Stunning.

Simply stunning.

The Coupe went from a wide-eyed blunt-nosed bowl of lime Jell-O to something decidedly more wicked.

Also, FWIW, I was never a fan of headlight eyelids. Until I saw your car. I tip my head to thee, sir.

And now that I came to my senses, a couple of questions and criticisms...

1) Where do the painted ceiling light baffles go? Do they replace a part of the projector, or fit inside of something?

2) The inner turn signal module never lights up in white.. Is it orange only, or switchback?

3) You mention an angel eyes switch. Are the angel eyes manual-only, or do you have the orange lights wired in with the turn signals?

4) Speaking of angel eyes - did you get them spray-painted white, and then had the white paint removed from the top of each individual LED? Chris must have the patience of a saint to do that. Was there a particular reason why you went with a contrasting color, instead of going black and blending them in?

And lastly, a criticism:
The lower eyelid looks a smidge... truncated. It seems like it should either terminate in a sharper point, or run all the way down to the inner corner of the light. I imagine it's wholly impractical to manufacture eyelids like that, but it's one of those things that, once you see it, you cannot unsee. And for a $75 pair of tiny fiberglass pieces, I'm sure they can afford a little impracticality..

All that said, it looks fantastic, especially with the green-trimmed wheels.

I have a question. Does the cornerpiece painted black cover the driving light behind it?

I'd have used plastidip on the highbeams. Atleast that way you could have removed it when it came time to sell the car so you didn't have to explain to the new owner there's no high beams. Then again, a good set of HID's and there's no real need for highbeams other than to flash people.

Ye Gods, man. That's un-freakin'-believable. I'm not a fan of the eyebrows, but you've really, REALLY made it work for the car. In fact, I only noticed they were eyebrows, when I looked through the build pics. That is absolutely the way it should be done. It's subtle, right up until you realize just exactly what's gone into it, and how different from stock it is.

Beautiful work. Setting the bar. AGAIN.
