You can hit 400 with an auto and a torque converter upgrade; however, with the torque loss you are going to have to exceed 500 bhp to do it.

You are correct in that the TCU cannot be tuned... at least no one that I know of has successfully been able to crack the TCU. That's not a complete loss; however, you are stuck with the stock TCU's limitations.

I know that DiabloSport has been working with BR on a handheld tuner, and I know that BR is highly motivated to get away from the PowerAxel handheld that has considerable limitations. With that said, DiabloSport announced over 2 years ago their intent to develop an handheld tuner for the Genesis Coupe.... they have since developed handheld tuners for a number of muscle platforms that were released after their announcement and yet we still wait. If you are waiting for DiabloSport to finally release their handheld tuner... you may be waiting for a while. All we ever get from our inquiries is the answer: "It's coming".

Thank you very much for the response!

Do you think it would be "safe" to upgrade the turbo without first upgrading the torque converter & transmission? Or do you think the added power would be too much?
(Assuming turbo will be something like a GTX3076R - probably something a bit smaller)

Yea.....400 is probably an overly ambitious goal. Especially for what I want to use the car for. The number just sounds so much better than 3xx. ha.

Well hopefully they will release their handheld tuner soon-ish. Sometime in 2015 would be nice. (I have quite a bit of saving up to do for the turbo upgrade anyways, so I have time to wait.)

Let me put it this way... if your torque converter slips after you tune.. you know what you have to do. In the meantime I would either tune down the boost to a level that you won't slip or just go easy on it until you can replace it.

what would be the best clutch to get if im only going as far as full bolt-ons and a tune? my stock clutch is slipping bad. i was looking at comp clutch but i have also heard some mixed responses about it. this is for a 2010 2.0t base

That would depend on your ultimate power goal. You don't want to buy more clutch than what you really need because the more the clutch can hold, the harsher the engagement and the heavier the pedal.

i will be staying with the stock turbo for quite some time so i guess at most 330wtq.. but no where near that anytime soon. so a stage 2 would be just enough but what brand clutch works best with our cars?

You won't hit 330 on a stock turbo.

You may notice slipping in the high gears on a Stage II tune. For your modest goals, I would suggest maybe going with an ACT Street Clutch kit. The engagement is only a little harsher than your stock clutch, but it will hold up to 363 lbs/ft of wheel torque in the event that you decide to upgrade. You can keep your dual mass flywheel so there's no issues with chatter or vibration.

Random question! Do you think you could fit 4, 19" rims w/tires between your trunk and backseat? Haha

Might drive three hours to buy some work wheels and I'd hate to find out I could only fit three in my car :\

Yea, I could probably do it if I had the passenger seat open, but taking someone with me for peace of mind since I really don't know the seller. Not sure if I'll clear the BBK. You think a Honda civic sedan would be feasible or probably the same amount of space? I appreciate your guys' input

I'd say you should be fine with a honda sedan.

Are you answering A_Capos's post or asking a question? Upgrading to a 2014 Clutch and Flywheel will keep that OEM feel, but the the price of that upgrade would allow you to purchase three or four aftermarket clutch kits. The question you have to ask yourself is, "how much are you willing to spend to keep that OEM feeling?"

If you are asking a question for yourself, I'm pushing 375 lbs/ft of wheel torque right now on my '13 (same clutch as the '14) on a BTR custom tune... and it's holding just fine.
