I qualify with a glock 17 out to 50 yards and max the qual on a regular basis, it's not the gun it's the operator.

</div>Love the sig226. I'll put it this way. I group low and to the right with a glock and past 10 or 15 yards it's a crap shoot. I group center target with the 226 up to 20 yards. I can hit a full size cut out consistently in the body at over 25 yards. I'm not a gun expert, nor am i even a proficient shooter...i do a lot of hunting with a 12 gauge but I'm verrrrry inexperienced with handguns. but I've been told by buddies that ^ is pretty decent. I love it. Fits my hand really well, consistent and predictable recoil and a very smooth trigger action. I thought the glock was notchy, nose heavy, and awkward to hold. Probably good for people with big hands, I have large palms and long fingers, but they're thin from playing piano and guitar, so I have a kinda awkward grip i guess? lol

Last thing a tango will see...

Glock 34 9mm Long slide Surefire X200A Tactical light and Trijicon GOG Night sights... Carries in a Bladetech OWB Kydex loaded with +P 147 grain Hydrashok ammo in 17+2 Extensions and one in the pipe (when loaded ).

I love glocks 19c, 17, 17c, 34, 21, 30 are what I have collected over the years...

what is the obsession with 45s? I personally don't like shooting them. I'm far more concerned with accuracy than stopping power and in my experience I can't shoot a 45 for **** lol. I don't intend to ever shoot someone, but I'm pretty sure a ~36 caliber bullet will work just as well as a 45 caliber bullet...better if it actually hits them! haha. I'm ****ed when the zombies come though...

oh, since there seems to be a lot of passionate gun owners in this thread...I have a question. I'm right handed but I'm almost positive that I'm left eye dominant. Is there any way that I can fix that? Is it possible to shoot across my body with my left eye i've never tried. Doesn't really affect me with the shottie since it's more about proper swing and leading not really taking the time to fully aim...(birding, not deer hunting with slugs )

I shot the 17 19 and 26? didn't like any of them. Had to really concentrate to get on target. First time I picked up a sig it was like I had been shooting with a rubber band gun before. Just butter. idk maybe it was the rake, I'm not sure, regardless of the grip angle the whole thing just felt kinda bulky and awkward, like the contours didn't fit my hand, both along the grip and the thumb rest.

I'm right handed (with a pistol) and left eye dominant. You have three options close your left eye and shoot with ur non dominant eye, close ur right eye and shoot with ur dominant eye or shoot with both eyes open and let ur dominant eye take over which takes alot of practice and figuring where to bring the gun up to ur eye. I've probally put 8000 rounds through my glock just since January.

I know this is a pistol thread but I just purchased a Mossberg 500 SPX for home defense along with some 00 to assist in stopping any ill-intentioned personnel. I also just purchased a new tri-rail forend, vertical handle and flashlight to attach to the forend. You have to love gun shows.

To Kamkaze
Just turn your head slightly to the right, align the eye to the gun not gun to the eye, with a a little practice it becomes second nature and part of your stance.
I have been a handgun shooter for 30 years and an NRA instructor for around 10.
Very dificult to learn two eyes, if you have not mastered just one.
I own 4 sigs, (228, 245,239, 220), two colts (mustang, and 45 Combat Elite)
one Desert Eagle (in 357) one Ruger mk II (22) and a Benelli M1 shotgun (for zombies )
Might as well stick my 2 cents about 40's not a fan, pretty much a compromise round for LE....they lift more than a 9mm or a 45 for the average person a jacked hollowpoint 9mm (hydrashock etc.) is going to be eaisier to shoot and control than the same round in 40.
BTW the ported springfield is fun to shoot but almost any ported gun is "blinding" in low light. the flash will be right where you are aiming!

Thanks for the advise, although it is different than any other instructor has given me. I have been to alot of different instructors (personal and for my career) I have always been told bring the gun to the eye and not the eye to the gun. I personally have no issues shooting two eyes open, and I have been competatively shooting for 5 years. I was just trying to help out splitsurf.

Nice guns fellas. I've shot many but never owned, might be looking to start picking them up in the next year tho... I'm sure this hobby can be nearly as expensive as my car hobby =)

It may be different, but most shooters (right handed-left eye dom) who bring there gun to the eye will be left of center, and the further the distance the further off they will be.
