there is a difference between defending your house with a handgun or a machine gun. he is anti-military style gun owning...says nothing about owning a handgun.
i dont know squat about guns so i wont even pretend to state what kinds he would deem inapproriate, but a basic handgun is just fine..its the wack jobs that own an arsenal.

The fact that "assult" rifles are banned is so gay. A pair of scissors could be an assult weapon, it is all what you do with the tool, your car is an assult weapon. And when Obama and all of the tree huggers start getting to strong, I want a AK47 or an m-16 and 1000+ rounds of ammo in my house. It is kind of sad really, that people fear the govt that much and feel the need to stock up on ammo/weapons. The govt should fear the people, not the other way around. That is the point of the bill of rights, its the peoples rights, the govt should be fearful of the bill of rights, and shouldn't ever be able to overtake it. One thing that gives the bill of rights all of its power IS the 2nd amendment. Once they take our guns, they can do whatever they want to the rest of the amendments and we are screwed. The 2nd amendment is not jsut to defend your house from the stupid theifs out their with a pistol, its to defend yourself from the govt if the need should arise. really? did you just say that? |

a ****ing tank isn't a car, genius. That's a pisspoor comparison if I've ever seen one. If it wasn't for us red blooded Americans with our so called "arsenals" we would all be speaking different languages. When the Japanese attacked pearl harbor thier leading general said the only reason they didn't press on towards mainland USA, wasn't because of our military, because it was so thinned out all over the world, it was because he knew the citizens had the right to bear arms, and would take up arms against them protect this country.

that will come in handy when someone breaks into ur house. I'm sure the guy that broke in to rape and murder ur family will understand when you tell him u need him to hold on a sec while you unlock to boxes to get ur gun and ammo and then unlock the trigger gaurd.

Hey guys, check this out I got a new car.
![]() The other one was my buddy's car. He wouldn't lower it so I did it for him. ![]() In all seriousness though, I am pretty sure that the right to bear arms was to protect the citizens from the government. If people want to own guns that's their own thing. I know plenty of people that have civilian models of military-grade weaponry, or something like that. It's not my thing, I'm more of a bow and arrow (archery target stuff, not hunting. Haven't done it in forever) person. And I like tights and feathered hats and pretending I'm Robin Hood. Wait what? Anyway, it's a tragedy when someone doesn't keep their weapon out of reach or locked up and their kid shoots someone or whatever happens, but hey, you live with the consequences of your actions.

.... whoever made the machine gun comment...
... you do know "machine guns" (by definition, an automatic weapon) have been outlawed and heavily regulated since 1930, right? Its called the National Firearm Act. "Military style" weapons are simply ones that look different or have a larger magazine than some other weapon, which, in the mind of and ignoramus, makes it 'more lethal' and allows people to brutally assault large audiences of helpless schoolchildren more easily. A couple facts to chew on - 1. Handguns are used in 9 out of 10 homicides within the USA today, and always have been. 2. More than half of those handguns are purchased on the black market. 3. 100% of automatic (FFL3) weapons used in assaults throughout the USA were bought on the black market, and they are almost all brought in from outside the country. Criminals will be criminals, no matter what sort of cocked up law you pass. |

they are going to have the guns whether they are legal or not, criminals dont care what the law is, so whether guns are outlawed or not, the criminals will still get them via the black market just like they do now.

To reiterate on my previous comment (don't want to get flammed).
I don't have a problem with guns or owning them (own a couple myself). I just want to hear better arguments for owning a gun than to "shoot crazy people". Esp when there is a shooting on military base where most people have been trained on firing guns and a lot more people have side arms, and the shooter still manages to kill 12 people. What does "joe the plummer" think they are going to do in this type of situation?
