I have never seen a car that looks like the tib. Post pics side by side to prove it.

Umm..what year? In some cases, there is a very good thing.

The most recent model is nice looking, but it still doesn't have a "thats a Hyundai" curve, bulge, arc, etc.

What I am really speaking of is across a whole model line, not many car companies have a distinct, love it or hate it look.

But the one that gets me is all the cars that stole the body line from the tib...the new focus is the worst, it even has the freaking gill. Except the focus' is in nasty looking chrome.
And have you seen how crappy the new Focus looks like? I mean who are they kidding, the Euros get their beautiful car and we get a crappy sedan. 2010 they are saying ALL lines across the pond they bring over are going to be the same....another DUH moment brought to you by Ford.

Only problem is that most of those European Fords will be coming over here as our Mercury. In a lot of cases they won't be replacing our shitty Ford models.

They have said that a few times throughout the past few years. One time, I had even contacted them to ask about the possibility of a new Supra. I was told that Toyota did not see there being any market for sports cars. This was right around the same time as the introduction of the 350Z, RX-8, Z4, and other sports cars.

Well, if you look at the Fiesta, and the Focus and MAYBE the Mondeo, they will be coming over as Fords. The Fiesta and Focus are a lock for coming in 2010.

You are right on the Fiesta and Focus. I believe the Mondeo will be the Millan replacement. The Kuga might make it's way here as a Mercury, and there were a couple of other ones too that will be Mercury.

I could be wrong, but I think that it is coming as, like I said a Milan replacement, or a Sable replacement...possibly both, as I think it is in between the two of them in terms of size.

Problem is, the Mondeo looks good as Ford, as a mercury it will be a watered down softer version otherwise known as "Mercury" like.

Very possibly. But they may also take this opportunity to reinvent Mercury. Instead of making it into a luke-warm Lincoln (which really is luke-warm themselves), they may refocus Mercury and just slap the Mercury badge on the car and be done with it, and sell it for a little more money than the nearest Ford competitor. I really, really hope that they don't try to slap the waterfall grill on cars like the Mondeo and Kuga.

Mustang GT 315hp/325tq@3485lbs vs 370z 332hp/270tq@3230lbs. The Z looks better to me and it has the better power to weight.

The mustang definitely is on the low end of the totem as far as perforance goes stock it seems. The Chevy and Dodge are both MUCH more powerful (though also a considerable amount heavier, so that may level the playing field) the 370 is in a tremendous spot compared to the mustang, heck eventhe gencoups 2.0 could be faster than the V6 and the 3.8 should hold it's own against the GT pretty well (the Ford has awesome torque numbers comparatively)

Given that Fords finish is not the greatest, and that I doubt the mustang will handle much better than previously, it's not really a viable option for anyone other than mustang whores and women (I say that, not in a sexist manner, but that performance cars are typically not targeted at women, however domestic muscle cars are driven mostly by women)

You have to remember the Mustang is a 2 + 2 coupe, the Z is strictly a 2 seater. I dont think these two models compete.

I do agree on the interior finish not being the greatest on the latest generation mustang. My friend had one, and it was absolutely horrid. They did mention they've upgraded the interior trim and quality so hopefully they've done better this time. The handling definitely needs some improvement from the previous model. I have a feeling the camaro will outhandle the mustang by a good margin. Well only time will tell for all these models. Until they ALL release, we are just speculating.

I know the difference between them, one is a sports car and the other is a sporty(pony) coupe.

yeah, but let's keep in mind that the new camaro takes a giant steaming dump on the mustang. the stang is not meant to compete with the z. it's meant to compete with the other muscle cars and it can't hold a candle to the camaro based on all reports.

One thing the stang does have going for it though is that apparently ford will be releasing a first-party supercharger that doesn't void warranty.

I do find it funny that the new gt is basically the bullitt. Personally I'd go out and track down the bullitt if i was going to buy a mustang. I love the looks of that car. Nicest shade of green out there and clean, badgless look.
