Default Ford Mustang GT Premium Package: $30,095

Jalopnik has found a leak as to some of the pricing and options for the 2010 Mustang. Read below:

Quote:
Our friends over at MustangBlog have themselves a scoop this morning before the day of the official reveal of Ford's new pony car, the 2010 Mustang. Go to Jalopnik for the pictures. But it is looking like the Gen might be a bit of a deal compared to the Mustang if you consider what you're going to be getting for your money. It would seem that the Grand Touring would compete most directly with this Premium Package, and considering that we are expecting the Gen GT to come in around $25-$27,000, I am pretty happy.

Sounds sick. Two downsides though; fuel economy because its a V8, and secondly it probably still has an LRA, which sucks. Hard.

Exactly. They have to go back 45 years for inspiration.

Why don't the designer who go back to 45 year old cars get ragged on for stealing design cues, but when Hyundai or any other car maker, borrows something from another car that is currently on the road, they get flamed for it so badly!

Yes, the new Siliva is coming, supposed to be a 2011 model I believe... and seriously, if Nicssan is as on with that as they have been with the GT-R and 370, it will be some serious competition for the gen, fortunately Hyundai will have a year up on the silvia to make a name. Unfortunately, the after market is probably already planning what upgrades they will offer first for it on release day, because the name alone will sell cars.

There have been "new supra" rumors happening for a while now actually, a while back it was even rumored that it would be a hybrid or ev car...

New Supra has a lot to live up to, considering how the design from 15 years ago still looks like it fits with todays standards.

I think the reason why Hyundai gets flamed is because they are "borrowing" styling cues from cars that are not of their own companies design. If you look at ford, chevy, chrysler, they are tapping into the designs of yesteryears, from models that their company has produced 40-50 years back.

I say neither is a good use of progressing designs in cars. I mean look at Alpha, NO car on the road looks like them, and that is what makes them so cool. It is nice to stand out in the pack rather than be lumped into boring world of Camry, Accord, Sonata, Maxima etc

yeah, but alphas are very much love it or hate it design wise... I for one hate the look of any newer alpha (save the competizione)

It would be nice if Hyundai had a style all their own, but we have to be honest.. Nissan is taking a LOT of flak for the headlight design alone of the 370... that is a very established name, both Nissan as well as "Z" If Hyundai were to go out on a limb style wise, it could hurt a lot if they missed the mark.

Totally, it is safe to not do something drastic, I personally like all things Alpha these days mostly because when you look at it, right away you know "thats an Alpha" good or bad, love it hate it, they have a look.

It takes time for a brand to get identity, many fall short (3 bar grille on ALL ford models) but many things just don't stick. Hyundai will eventually find its bearings and go with it, once it does, I am sure it will get a lot more respect than it does.

it's so hard to be original these days
most, if not all ideas are remakes or spin offs...I mean look at movies

That is so very true, you will never look at an alpha and think "hrm, that looks just like a <insert whatever car here>"

That is so true, i would rather hyundai take cues from modern times than see a retro design.

I think alpha's are ugly. But you are right about them being different.

I think it is great when a cars design has people divided, you would never see anyone fight over the looks of a Camry...or the taste of Vanilla for that matter.

It really just shows there is enough of a car there to care about, or talk someone out of caring.

The thing about hyundai supposed borrowing is they are not the only ones to do it...and seriously there is a point where you can only make somehting so may ways....

But the one that gets me is all the cars that stole the body line from the tib...the new focus is the worst, it even has the freaking gill. Except the focus' is in nasty looking chrome.
