Hey there, quick question about the powder coating - where exactly did you have it done? I've been thinking about getting it but the cheapest quote I got (in Ottawa anyway) was $680. Thanks!

Since you haven't listed what you'd let these go for. I did some research and came up with what I think is a reasonable offer. Discount Tire direct has this set for Hankook V12s for $740 with free shipping (I would pick them up in buffalo as it's only about 1 hr from the GTA). Add 7% duties (checked with CBSA) and and 13% HST tires new would be about $895 brand new. Since they have been used I would give you $600 for your tires. The OEM rims (PC'd or not) generally go for $500-$600 in decent condition. Unfortunately, I'm not looking for a set of matte black rims so I will have to take them to get PC'd again. So in cash I'd offer you $1100 -1200 for your setup.

I also have a set of OEM 18s in good condition (just some minor stone chips no curb rash) with about 20k kms on the rubber that I would be willing to trade + $600. I'm not sure if you have winters or not yet the 18s would make a good set for winter tires (if you winter drive your car).

---------

@Marne - Metalcoaters in Mississauga will do a set of rims for ~$320 they will do certain colours + metal flake for that price. I will be taking rims here to get them done. I used to live in Ottawa I can check with a couple of friends that work at a speed shop to see if they know of anything closer for you. PM me!

Sorry your offer is too low:

Few things:

1. I purchased these tires Toronto and I have a valid receipt for it, so I can't really compare it with US dealer..

2. If you don't need powder coated RIM in Matt Black, please find the one without PC'ed, it will be cheaper for you, I can't sell mine for the price of non PC'ed ones.

3. Absolutely NO TRADES.

im out on price then and matte black PC.

I think Tam905 is pretty fair offer and may have trouble finding someone to pay for your costs associated with what you put out there, but GLWS

Might as well try your luck at listing your car for $50,000 too (just promote it as the first GT in Canada)

There is no reason why Tam905 (or anyone else) should have to absorb the cost of your PC. I mean did the dealership sell you your car at a premium because its bathurst black Similarly, no one cares what the book value was that you paid for the tires... The fact is your tires are now worth less than you paid in March (plus they're still on your car)

Anyway the condition of the rims is even questionable (looks dirty/streaky/etc.) whether its damage from the product that you used to "clean" them, or if you just failed to clean them prior to posting photos either way can't say I'd have to pay more for these vs. stock 19's...

I've been told $50 per rim is the typical cost for the powder coating. Not sure if this includes unmounting / mounting of the tires.

I remember a few people used Metal Coaters! and were pleased with the results but they are in Toronto. You could try to call them and see if they can refer you to someone in Ottawa. $680 seems a bit steep...

Default RIM's are mint.

I am only going to answer the concern in the above post regarding RIM's condition.

The rims are mint and don't have any scratches or curb rashes (yet), I am still driving with fingers crossed.

I wasn't referring to scratches or curb rash, rather they look similar to this thread:

powdercoat issue

Interesting, I'll try to clean them and then take pictures to see if they are really stained or just dirty.

In regards to your post about my Kijiji post and price, I have mentioned that I am looking for a reasonable offer, I know you can't get what you paid for but I am not interested in selling too low for what I paid for in Canada. Tires are practically brand new (obviously not dealer new), only have probably 4-5 K.

Worst come worst I'll just keep it, but again I am OPEN for reasonable offers

Your offer was definitely a lotbetter than mine haha...I think OP would only get close what he wants selling them to someone with no association with gencoupe forums because members here will know 19s been sold before for 700-1100 really depending on condition/ tire treads.

Tires are practically brand new, and I have no problems in an open forum members discussing the prices, no need to bash and make anybody look down.

I do have few offers via PM but I have a certain price in mind that I would like to get.

I think this is more fair comparison:

www . tirerack . com - I have used them many times before and am happy with their service and turnaround time)

Only the tires shipped to Toronto, including all taxes/duties/brokerage fees and tire fees:

Total: $722.00 (before tax and shipping)
Shipping Total: $146.73
Excise Tax: $0.00
HST: $107.37
PST: $0.00
Duty: $50.54
Provincial Tire Fee:$23.36
Brokerage Fee: $30.00
Order Total (USD):$1,080.00

I paid about 1095, which is not bad, no travelling hassle and no running around for customs.

I did check the RIMs out closely and they are just dirty and lots of break dust, since they are black they are not as visible as in anyother color, I'll have to wash them and dry them up but there is nothing like stain as mentioned in the other thread.
