Default Need my gen faster

Well, im sick of it! haha my buddy just bought the 2013 rspec geni and i get him outa the hole till about 3rd gear and then he just screams past me.

my turbo lags like crazy and i got **** throttle response after 3rd gear

What can i do ? i heard about the reflash but some people say its not worth the 800 dollars you notice a little difference, an some say its amazing and worth it.

ive thought about bigger turbo but then again i read that i will have to change my tranny motor pistons intercooler rad ect ect ect....

Any ideas on what i can do under 5 grand ?

ps. Theres a plymouth neon around my area.... white, rust everywhere, primar spots all over, exhaust hanging on the ground...running 25 pounds of boost....no body can beat him..

i HAVE to win before his engine explodes. HELP!!!!

Yeah stock-wise there is turbo lag...had that in my A/T and it was brutal.

But the reflash is 400 US...maybe check out the meet that is coming up this weekend:
SFR end 2012 ECU reflash tour August 11th!!!

You can ride with someone's reflashed coupe and see if you feel it is faster/better response (since the reflash does do a good job with those two items). And hopefully you will instead make the Neon blow its engine by trying to catch up to you =D KA-BOOM!

Get your GC to Stage 2...I don't know if you have automatic or manual, but if manual, then :

Exceladyne Stage 3 Kit

You will need a clutch / flywheel, but that should take you right to $5,000. Can do it for cheaper piecing it together of course.

You said you in the shwa? A neon running around here, that looks like crap running 25 psi? I know of most of the cars that run around the shwa. I know of a few clean srt-4 neons, none of which are white. What area does this thing run in mostly? Curious on it to see if it really is a 25 psi beast, or just some ricer claiming and is now believing his own lies... lol

Wilson and king area, its not an srt4 body, its like the old school 4 door neons that are made by plymouth not dodge.. look the same but he wont tell anyone what motor he has.

i have yet to race him, but my buddy in a 2013 r-spec geni did and got smoked... lol

This thing is a rocket, tires spin every gear

I have no lag like pretty much at all after returning to stockish. Fmic catch can and no muffler. She hits 15psi almost as soon as i touch the throttle in any gear.

PSI is irrelevant without Turbo specs...
(And compression, displacement, etc, etc)

Is he one of those guys that sit down at the timmies there on Wilson and King with the ricers? If so, im going to have to make my way there 1 day and check him out. Kinda sounds like my idea i had a while back. Pick up an SRT-4, make it stupid fast, but toss on a non srt body and rims on to it....and keep it quiet. A sleeper . always loved sleeper cars lol

Was that to me or op.
Old be diesel turbo 70hp stock on 10-12 psi makes 140hp around 21-22psi, take the same psi on a gen and ur way over that. On a ls7 and ur 3-5x it so ur right, my gt2860 on 17psi ran more peak hp than the td04 being just a different snail on the same psi and motor, so yeah.
