lol no one will argue that point 2 is a jelous lie. They got some sour lemon hater-aid there, that is all that is. They like the looks so much that they feel the need to compensate by making that poster in the first place. can you say napoleon complex?
point 1 is conditional, as you could get one for 22k... cheaper than a cobalt, I looked into a cobalt. and point 3 is conditional as well, slower at what? straight line? ok, track, the GC could win, its RWD, and way more fun. cobalt sucks so bad, they need onstar for WHEN their crap car breaks down..... and they have to pay out of pockets because it is no longer under their short warranty. suck it cobalt lol, that last comment is out of my charactor, but I will still keep it. |

I also got mine sub $20k. Traded in an 09 civic si for it cause the deal was great. got a lot for my si also. very happy with the trade. cobalt SS = turd with a big turbo. Its quick in a line, its quick around the track (beats the STI and EVO), but it has to be. If it were anything but a blur, people would see how ugly it is.

Finesse Is Everything
|
Whoever made that poster didn't do their homework. Anyone who has an internet connection can see that the GC is not overpriced and when you compare the appropriate trim levels to match the Cobalt it is quite clear that there isn't much fiscally to make the Cobalt a hands down better value. For example compare the (From Hyundai USA) the 3.8 base to the Cobalt SS. Now I do have to say that Chevy is aggressive with their 2k down deal. Hyundai should have a response to that to keep the edge. However MSRP to MSRP the GC is competitive. The 28k range is with more technology options (NAV, ETC) which I could not find on Chevy's site as a package.
In regards to performance... I don't redline my stock GC and hunt down other cobalts, or whatever to show that my member is bigger than someone else's. In the scheme of things who cares if a stock non drag car is .2 seconds faster than another in a drag or 5 MPH faster on a 1/4 mile. I am more interested in improving my driving skill on the track. This is where I have the most fun. The GC is more than enough car for most to handle when pushed. I know that the GC can hang with the SS on the track. I also know that front wheel drive is not as fun as rear wheel drive on the track as well ;-). So for those GC haters at the Cobalt site, good for you I guess. You won? |

The 2.0T maybe, but if they are quoting $28k then point three isn't.
Besides, how is a Chevy Cavalier (Cobalt same thing) ever cool? That's like calling a Chevy Malibu cool.

I traded in a Pontiac G5 (cobalt clone) for my Gen coupe.
That car was the biggest piece of monkey **** in history! Just after 2 years and 50,000 miles it blew both front control arms, the electrical system was shot so the radio would randomly stop allowing volume control, the cigarette lighter kept frying itself out and my cell phone with it, and the sunroofs track broke so the damn thing would not shut. So I had a car I still owed a $250/month payment on and literally in 6 months I had put $1400 to repairs....F*%& THAT! The interior was the worst quality of any car I have ever seen. It looked like GM just gave up and sprayed rubberized undercoating all over the interior. It felt like the glove box was going to break off in your hand every time you shut it because it was so frigging flimsy. I hated, hated, hated, hated that car. There is a good reason that GM has to basically pay you to take one of their cars off the lot and then make sure that their cars loan is $3000 less then any reasonable competition.
