Just wondering, how many cans do you think it take to spray-paint an entire car in plastidip? I've been toying with painting the trim/grille on my Grand Cherokee white but idk.
Anyone think this would just be a horrible idea? Or would it not even work? Just a thought. I'd also be up for Rhino-lining it, but that sounds expensive, something like this but the bumper/trim would be done as well.

Also the added weight would be something to look at, Rhino spray is very heavy from what I read. |

I've got a buddy that did his Blazer in Rhino-Lining. It looked good at first... but now that it's old and faded it looks terrible. And good luck gettin that stuff off if you decide you don't want it anymore

I had a customer of mine come to me with his whole truck lined with Rhinodip(?). He basically did everything, inside and outside. He told me its been the best investment of his life because his car was 10+ years old and has yet to see any type of degradation regarding the elements and how much stress he has put on it. He says he would just hose the whole inside out and it would look just like new. He even cut his head open because his headliner is covered in it and his wife slammed on the brakes and the top of his head slid on it. LAWL(what a fail)! The truck looked really slick though, no doubt about that.

Somebody did a Tiburon in PlastiDip and was letting people write things in chalk at the Hyundai Fundai show a couple weeks ago. From my understanding, the cans holding the hood up were the number of cans it took to complete the car. It was certainly interesting and got a lot of attention but thats just because people like drawing dicks on things. It looked really bad but that could have been the way he finished it. Sprayed over anything and everything.

Look at the Hyundai fundai pics in the Ontario section, one of the guys plastidipped his whole tib. Cost him 87 bucks. And he left a bunch of sidewalk chalk next to the car for people to draw on it.

Haha yea mileage is not exactly a strong suit for my Jeep lol. I get about 12mpg in the city so I really just have it for bad weather i.e. heavy snow, ice, rain, etc
The plasti-dip doesn't look too bad on that tib. I mean it's not something I'd do to my Gen, but should be alright on the Jeep. At least with the plasti-dip it's removable, unlike the rhino lining. I'm gonna head over to home depot tomorrow after work and get a few cans. Stay tuned!

My old cherokee wasn't too bad on gas, and that 4.0L hauled ass
I miss my jeep, RIP

I said cherokee, not grand cherokee. 4.0L and the 2.4L were the only engine options but it was light as hell (for a jeep) so it friggin flew. '88 so it was the AMC block still
edit: the rust holes also lightened it a fair bit
