I just pulled out all of the files in the internal flash memory "ResidentFlash"
this is also another necessary step for u guys to edit any application found in ur unavi i.e: replacing icons, images, menus, styles, deleting sounds n many many more i forgot to show u this extra step that i did earlier to delete the waterdrop sound from my unavi completely... n it worked easily if u wanna edit any application within Unavi, just google n download "Resource Hacker" it's free yet very powerful and very easy to use here's a snapshot of how i deleted the extra waterdrop sounds that were impossible to reach and attached to the applications within Unavi resource hacker controls | Flickr - Photo Sharing! try it guys n let me know if u need any help or participation.. P.S: i've never been a forum active memeber b4 in my life so i'm not familiar with hosting files and images publicly.. i need some time to get used to it |

aah the video will take ages to upload
anyways here's a couple of pictures I took ![]() ![]() I took the easy way in doin it. so I copied a mortscript into the Memory stick n wrote a couple of Case-codes n mapped the menu choices to the executable programs in the memory stick.. for now I added (iGO Primo, HobDrive, and Total Commander) so whenever I click the Navigation Icon at the main screen, I get a simple menu with a list of shortcuts to many other programs. about the annoying sound.. it's mostly gone for now except for the setup tab it's all over |

good work!
Can I make a small suggestion though? Switch to Photobucket... Imageshack is f*cking garbage and has a billion ads and popups, very annoying. Between you and crashp us 7500 owners are going to be better off than the x1 users, if raspberrypi ever comes down I'll be golden

to be honest, what really kept me from modifying this unit is that it's all based on korean symbols.. n i spent a huge amount of time learning and recognising some symbols just to get my way across the system
ever since Crashp posted the update ver 2.0 n i've been crazy to burn up my unit in any way just to release the nemesis windows CE is a damn simple OS to deal with. but if it didn't do the job well i'm gonna have to flash a linux image at the screen .. I tried ubuntu notebook n by far it runs alot smoother in a cheap slow Chinese WinCE LCDSnoopy, do u have any background in scripting or WinCE app developing? |

I don't write script, I could but I'd have to fiddle with it because honestly I haven't done it in years and most likely not the same kind of code.
The most experience I have with WinCE is getting kiosks back up and running for clients and the unavi. Unfortunately UNAVI corp has been pretty much useless to get anything out of, up to and including orders for customers. Did you have any app in particular in mind?

any app similar to HobDrive that relies on an OBD-II piggy connection to alert me for service times (oil, tires, spark plugs, n such) <-- i don't wanna change spark plugs just because i feel like it :P .. i'd prefer scheduling the service table from the car manual n get traced automatically by the milage n then alert me for anything another handy app that would provide a to-do-list or a shopping list in that unavi that only handles maps n a multimedia player when it's got more potentials to even establish a PAN or synchronise files whenever the car is within my home LAN... I installed a WLAN usb dungle in it a while back! but again... the korean language is killing me

You should be able to change the WinCE language to english (if it's got that language pack) the problem will be anything that's been manually modded by unavi that'll still be in korean.

Change the Default "Trip" Module background:
First off, I did this real quick without selecting a good background, or making sure it was set to the same resolution as the previous one. This is obviously recommended. Also, all of the images are modifiable via Resource Hacker, so you could essentially "skin" your own trip module. Keep in mind that some backgrounds may look like **** with the blue theme that the developers used for all of the buttons. This is simply a proof of concept, however any aspiring graphics person could easily make their trip look however they wanted to! Special thanks to irock_you for pointing out the Resource Hacker program; here I had been trying to hex it this entire time, only for this program to make it child's play! 1) Install "Resource Hacker": Resource Hacker (Scroll to the bottom) 2) Once installed, launch the program. 3) Click on File, Open, then find Trip_GCP.exe 4) It will now load as you see below: ![]() 5) Branch down "Bitmap", then "132" then highlight "1042" - youll see the picture on the right hand side: ![]() 6) Right click "1042" and select "replace resource" 7) Youll now have the following window, simply select a different bitmap: ![]() 8) It will show yours in the preview (cheesy matrix logo), select "replace" 9) You'll now see your bitmap under 1042: ![]() 10) File -> Save. Copy the Trip_GCP.exe back to your memory card and enjoy! Below is a very crappy cellphone picture of mine replaced.

For HOBDrive, the generic FTDI drivers need to be copied to the %windows%\ directory for it to recognize the ELM327 clone devicece. Unfortunately, after every UNAVI reboot, it reverts the windows directory back to the default, and the drivers are lost. HOBDrive is also open source (to a point). Are you able to recompile HOBDrive to copy the two driver files (PM me) to the %windows% directory each time the executable is launched? I was going to make a custom RS232 OBD2 adapter via some SparkFun parts and use the existing serial interface on back of the UNAVI, but generic ELM327 USB clones are a dime a dozen on ebay - the biggest hold up was the driver copying. If you and I are able to overcome this, the USB option would be much better and more affordable for other UNAVI'ers. Feel free to PM me to discuss more! |

I completely forgot that I have a clone of the SD card on my computer.. so I can tinker a bit.
Anyone able to copy the flashrom on the unavi off? Then I could virtu WinCE to test stuff and help out until my car gets back.

To get Trip_GCP to not crash, you have to figure out the STM32 initialization/wake up code for the trip module (which I won't share), have your emulator output it to a simulated STM32F107 processor, which will then "wake up" and send virtual data back to the Trip program. If you just want to play with the background of trip, you can download the Wince6 MS emulator and then make your storagecard = the location for Trip_GSC.exe ![]() ![]() On a side note, here is the clock modified: ![]() It will load to the point of the background, then you'll receive the error message that the tripmodule wasn't found - will be good enough to test your skin, however. how did you get it to load? Do I have to enter CE first or just try to open the enbos bin?
