The only other problem was that I noticed that the bracket that is for hooking the O2 housing up to the stock brace is slightly too tall from top to bottom, and the holes were slightly too far apart so it can't fit properly in the cavity of the stock brace and lining up the holes was an impossibility. If you have the patience and want that extra support (Read: which is not needed), you can just notch the bracket on the O2 housing and have the hole in the stock bracket opened up a bit. That didn't matter to me because once everything was hooked up and bolted down, it was more than sturdy enough. Other than that, everything went smoothly. All in all, I give fitment a 9/10.
Sorry but this kind of sounds like a serious fitment problem. Did anyone else have to drill their pipes to make it fit? And anyone else have problems with the brace being off?=

^ No dude, serious fitment problems with pipes means the flanges are warped and/or were welded in a way that it cannot fit in the car without cutting the flange off and rewelding it in the right position (been there and done that thanks to ebay). Spending $10 to open the holes up a tiny bit is not serious at all lol. Also the brace was not off, it was slightly too big. Most O2 housing replacements don't even come with the brace and it isn't needed, it is a nice plus.

I just used my cordless drill, and a 1/2inch drill bit, and made the holes a hair larger. It took less than 1 minute to do all 3 holes.

Dont mean to argue but if I paid money for a pipe where it needs rewelding or cutting, I wouldnt call that a serious problem. I'd say that part wasnt designed for the car! Its supposed to be simple bolt-on.

What other manufacturer requires modifications to their part to make it fit?

I will say though, this is the cheapest pipe I've seen, so I guess you get what you pay for. Cheap enough to take the risk and buy a new one if it dont work out.

I'm just surprised people are more concerned about throwing CELs and not the fitment.

Back when megan racing first came out, a lot of their pipes did this:

I read they have since matured with more quality control.

Do you know if there are any leaks with this pipe? Any residue buildup around the flanges or bung holes, or rattling sounds?

Nice review, just to let people know a couple things: The brace support isn't needed, and I know for a fact that another member that had used the brace on his catless O2 housing actually RIPPED IT OFF THE PIPE! There's a lot of stress being put on that brace so better leave it loose then risk of breaking the welds.

The MXP O2 housing had the same exact brace and I couldn't fasten it either because the thing was not properly located.

I think the MXP and Depot Racing units are the same, since I also had too fiddle quite a bit to fit the housing through the 3 turbo studs, the holes were not perfectly lining up. The layout of both products is 100% the same.

Also for people having problem unscrewing the O2 sensors, AKCG suggested that you can take them off after you took the OEM O2 housing off, then squeeze the sensor in a bench vise and unscrew them like that. Very nifty idea IMHO.

Hope this helps.

solidfish, not everybody has had the problem with the holes lining up. I know of 3 users who did not have the same problem as I did. The quality of the materials and build are top notch and IF you have to pay $10 to get the holes enlarged, you are still ~$50 below the cost of anything else that is actually GOOD on the market.

Oh and there has been absolutely no rattling at all. The gaskets were great and when I get back to NC, I'll take a look to see if I have had any leaks but I didn't notice any.

McMonopoly, you are quoted for truth haha

First question is the cat that is removed with this mod the primary or secondary cat?

Second question how much power can this mod net for an otherwise stock motor.

Lastly has anybody had any problems warranty wise with this mod?

Taking out any of your cats will give your warranty a nice kick in the nuts!!! If you know what I mean. When you mod your car, forget your warranty!!

They can not void your warranty just because you do one mod! So sick of people saying this a car has many things that are under warranty not just a universal one. They have to prove the mod caused the problem you are having. Most places are going to give you a hard time if you mod but there are laws that protect us!

^ agreed, it is arguable on what voids certain parts of your warranty.

Can you imagine them voiding your drive train warranty for tinting your windows or changing your exhaust tips? An extreme example compared to removing the cat and fooling the ECU of the second 02 sensor, but somethings are arguable.

well first of all NO DEALER in this country can't "void" warranty. they can hold you responsible for the damage but it has to be proved in court, or at least to a attorney. So changing to cat-less and tricking the ecu doesn't void the power train. It voids the warranty to the ECU lol. Unless they can prove it cause the damage, raised boost + blown engine= your f'ed.

Sorry to thread jack and screw up the review, just wanted to find out. This looks like a good upgrade for the money. The only thing I really have planned for this car are exhaust/intake/reflash and maybe intercooler with piping, hopefully that won't blow my engine!
