thanks. well now I've actually got to drive around with the exhaust and take a road trip with it. I love it a lot more, it sounds great. I haven't actually heard it from outside yet though lol

Yeah it feels so good to finally have my car back. Everything went well with the repair and the car looks great. I'll have a video and pictures up hopefully this week. My brother and I have been trying to find a spot we can make a nice vid with WOT runs and full revs.

UPDATED with new video:
I just changed the video to the quick one of me revving... the long one with the pictures and stuff is on my YouTube still, but I figure most people don't want to see that stuff haha.

I will be doing another photoshoot in the morning so it will be much brighter out, I'll be sure to get more/better pictures of the exhaust and post them up
oh and one of these days I'll jack the car up and take pictures under the car so you can see how it all fits.

damn.

simply sick.

love the fog and awesome red.

i was just looking in at this exhaust. maybe buy it for the extreme weight savings.

i know most 3 inch cbe don't differ much in terms of power but can you say anything about it compared to the injen and the other cbe you had? (in terms of numbers)

i love single exits but not that much on the gen since i can't stand the empty left side of the diffuser. i would really only get it for the weight savings since i've been completely decided on the mxp (already have cp-e dp). but everything rational points towards getting this exhaust (cheaper, much lighter, ti)> mxp ($$$, best sounding exhaust imo, don't know exact weight but heavier) .. not much diff in performance.

congrats on your car man.

Thanks one of my favorite pictures so far haha.

Well I only had the Tsudo for a short time, but it made 12 peak whp with a downpipe. However the dyno graph was weird and wasn't anywhere near as smooth as the Injen in power gains, could have been the dyno though. And I had the Injen CAI on for both before/after dyno's.
The Injen is not too heavy because it has 2 smaller mufflers instead of one big one.
The Injen gained about 5 peak whp and 25 peak wtq. That was just adding that catback to a stock car. There were gains though out the entire powerband.
I can definitely feel a difference in the Tomei exhaust though (I keep up with my brothers 2011 WRX Cobb AP tuned, when before with the Injen exhaust against a stock 2011 WRX I couldn't keep up as well. I had the PowerAXEL tune with both Injen and Tomei). I never had the Tomei dyno'd before/after though.

I've heard the MXP in person and it sounds really nice. I never thought I'd have a single exit on the Genesis haha. I love the quad tipped look. But I'm really enjoying this exhaust. Soon I'll figure out what I'm doing with that hole on the left side haha. Plus this thing only weighs 10 lbs

hope that helps.

Which sound do you like best the mxp or the tomei?

I know 10 lbs is amazing. saving 30 lbs of weight is better than the small power gains you may get from any cbe !

Thanks for your response.

Well it's been a while since I've heard the MXP, but I'd say I like the Tomei better. It sounds really nice and deep. But I can keep it very quiet when I drive around my neighborhood.

Yeah it's weird being able to hold up the whole cbe without any trouble haha.

Good to know. Do you by any chance know how much the mxp weighed?

I know !! $980 !! I'm leaving the genracer webpage with the exhaust opened until I have the cash to buy haha. Free shipping also to PR?

is your guys just a catback or full catless? I have a downpipe, but want to know how much louder it is with a new o2 housing. i'm trying to decided if I want a high flow cat or not.

I LOVE the "purr" of that exhaust in your quick rev video. So clean and so smooth.

Quick question though, is there a difference between having clamps on an exhaust or flanges when it comes to having it tightly secured or any air leaks?

Well I was told it is less likely to have a leak with the slip type and clamps. They are on there tight and the springs are there for extra security as well.

I will be sure to do that soon when I have free time. I'm usually alone when I want to make videos and when I have time haha so it makes it difficult sometimes.

My friends and I did a little photoshoot a couple nights ago, I'll try to post up pictures of different angles of the exhaust. I was hoping to do a video with my friends 2 s2ks, but we didn't.
Also, I might be getting an O2 housing soon which I cannot wait to hear how it will change the exhaust sound. I'm sure it only gets better.

The exhaust has never scraped anything while driving, not even close. That scrape on the muffler was from the damn tow truck driver going over a dip way too fast and it scratched the muffler in 3 spots... but it's only on the bottom so you can't see it from behind.

Very nice I was just wondering if it rattles anywhere because it looks kinda tight in some areas. Also, right where it connects to the catback, it looks like it tapers down a bit. Is it 3in ID? I bet when you put in an o2 pipe its going sound insane hehe

There are no rattling noises from the Tomei exhaust. However, I've noticed that with a downpipe there's always a vibrating noise and only at a certain rpm. I've heard this on other gen coupes as well. I have a low vibrating noise only at 2k rpm then it goes away. It's never there with just a cbe.

Yeah it tapers down. I think it's so you can get to the bolts easier. It can be difficult to get a socket wrench on to the bolt when the pipe is 3 inches. But I'm not too sure.
Yep I can't wait to put in an O2 housing haha.
