OP: Awesome build!! If you guys can't get good power out of the ATP turbos, check out Beyond Redlines upgraded stock turbo. There are numerous people making 300+whp and 300+ft/lbs. It'll hit 20psi just before 3000rpm no problem, about 15psi by 2500, I've seen up to 25.X psi by 3500rpm. It won't hold much more than ~20psi at 7000rpm though. I've never seen intake temps more than 40* above ambient, even in 95* weather.

I'm curious why you guys went with the GT28s vs. the GT3071R? I was under the impression that it spools just about as fast as the 28s?
Why did you decide to go with the cable throttle body? Was it the haltec or just for better response? What is the suspension setup? That intercooler is pretty tiny, I would think a larger one would help quite a bit? PS. Can we get some more recent photos?

So many questions!
The car is not using any of the factory electronics. All of the chassis wiring and engine wiring was done custom (by us) to professional race standard (often labeled "mil-spec"). We are using CAN communication to the AIM MXL dash, and we have the intake cam control working, but not the exhaust cam control. The Sport 1000 does not support DBW so we switched to cable throttles, which works well since we were using cable throttles last year with the 3.8L engines anyways. The suspension is also anything from stock: Front suspension: -Custom tie rods with bump steer correction -Front lower control arm modified to use a spherical rod end on the chassis side -Eibach sway bars with custom bar links -Front TC rods changed to radius rods with rod ends Rear suspension: -Custom machined monoball housings to replace the two bushings in the knuckle -Custom aluminum subframe bushings -Custom camber arms, with the frame rails notched to allow the use of a straight camber arm -Custom toe arms -Rod ends with tube nuts welded on traction and front lower arm (to allow the arm to be adjustable, and to remove the stock bushing) -Spring perch modified to convert the bushing to a rod end as well. -Eibach rear sway bar with custom links I will get some pictures of the suspension for you guys. The dampers we are using are Penske triple adjustable remote reservoir, with the front struts custom built by Anze engineering. Current spring rates are 800F/800R, with the rear spring mounted on the damper rather than the OE location. If you guys are interested in some suspension products and organize a group buy we can certainly put something together. The links are not that expensive. The dampers are.

Sasha I was considering giving PRS in Niagra a call with some calcs for a double adjustable street/track set.
I still need to get onto Asselins scales among other things. I would have done it this coming weekend if he wasn't out racing those clown cars (Legends). Good call on getting rid of the sloppy bushings though, they're brutal.

Just tested the new car at Mosport and things went rather well! Both cars are within 2 tenths, and are on pace with last year. Looking forward to our first race in two weeks!

I apologize for the lack of updates, we've been too busy working on these things. We just got back from our second race weekend and it was one of the wildest races I've had. We've been dealing with power steering failures on the #14 car, while the #86 (new car) has been 100% reliable and ripping AWESOME. The power steering failed on me in practice on Friday, so I was forced to qualifying with any practice on this new track. I was still able to qualify 3rd and bob was 4th. We were really excited to be doing so well. I ended up winning the first race, and bob came 2nd ![]() In the second race I got taken out in the first corner, the entire right side of the car is now mangled. SOMEHOW the suspension didn't get hit hard enough to really mess it up. I was able to drive back to 3rd, and bob finished 1st. My suspension finally let go and on the last couple laps I went back to last. It was really sad - but I made it more exciting by doing a few donuts which I was then fined for and put on probation. Bob, I won't be able to make it to the next CSCS but the Gen Coupes should be there and Bob may even run one. I will be at the last event for sure with my Z and with any luck I'll improve my time from last year!
