Default Coils vs. Springs

No, This isn't another thread asking which is better, it's a thread telling which is better!

Long story short Ive been on ARK springs for a couple months and I can not wait to get rid of them and put ion the shiny new bc coils sitting next to me!

Everyone, do as I say not as I do and save yourself some money and do it right the first time!

Care to explain why instead of saying "because I said so"?

Sure, I initially bought the springs because they were relatively cheap compared to the price of coils. I thought hey, it'll lower the car and give me that aggressive look i want without breaking the bank so i jumped on it.

From the get go I was disappointed with the drop. it was ok in the rear but not enough in the front. but because i bought springs there was nothing i could do about it. Worst of all though is my ride quality went from decent on the stock track suspension to complete and utter ****. You have never imagined the road concealed so many bumps until you're lowered on springs!

The desire to get my car to the perfect height for me, not an average good enough height for the masses, combined with the sensation of riding on bricks led me to eventually buy bc racing coils.

I have heard many great things about them and I absolutely cannot wait to install them this week! Nearly everyone who goes from springs to coils says that they wish they had gone straight to coils in the first place. I can attest to that after just a couple months on springs! I am so ready for better ride quality and better performance out of my suspension! not to mention tons of adjustability to dial it in just the way I want!

Hopefully that explains why I think everyone should just save up a bit longer and go with coil overs over springs from the very beginning!

I agree. The already short strut travel combined with lowering springs limits its effectiveness. My BC coils have been good so far, comparable ride quality to stock in most situations. I was really after more camber up front and unfortunately no camber plates are made for this vehicle.

Ninja3.8 speaks the truth. Coils>springs. The uneven drop the sportlines give the car(back way lower than front) made me regret my purchase within a week..not to mention the ride quality
Regretful spring owner.

Well at least my springs were only $200. Haven't even put them on yet and I'm rethinking them.

And I had heard so many great things about the Eibach Pro Kit...

Any suggestions for alternatives?

Definitely agree. It might be a bigger initial investment in the beginning, however in the long run, it's worth it.

Totally agree. Had springs and hated them. Now I have HKS coils and love them.

Yes. I had to import them from Japan since they closed there US operations. Tom from G&M ordered them for me.

Theyre not bad if your struts are new. Mine have 35K miles on them, and the last 10K have been on these eibachs. Theyre driving me crazy and my interior panels are starting to squeek in the dash and around the shifter.

My H&Rs are going on now. Other than the Pro-Kit, this is the only other set I even remotely considered. Most others are too low for factory struts, or just Chinese nonsense.

If he is referring to the sportlines, I remember a thread about them blowing out the struts. Not sure how many drivers experience this.
