Thought about sportline but after putting pro-kit, don't think I can go any lower than this with the shitty roads here.

Pro-Kit and some spacers:

^ Sexy!
I have stock 18 OEMs but I have no spacers.
I was thinking of getting the pro-kit right now to lower but will it look bad without spacers?

When you lower this car the factory wheels looks even more tucked in, than they are at stock height.

LOl shimmy...didn't know you got a GC....

It'll look like OP's car...wheels tucked in and create an illusion of a big gap.

Man that pro-kit looks good! Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the 3.8 and 2.0T lower differently with the same kit. Like the pro-kit lowers the 2.0 slightly more than the 3.8? What spacers are those btw?

I think pro-kit would look better on the 3.8 since the 3.8 has a heavier motor it will make the front lower, therefore more even with the back. My front right now is a bit higher than the back. The back a little less than two fingers, the front two fingers. I got 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers.

OK, I just pulled the wheels off to take a look at my endlinks- they are both ruined. Both of them are bent badly! I'll have to replace them with new parts. I'll post a pic of the damaged parts later tonight lol. Just goes to show you, no matter how good you think you are ( i've been working on cars and racing since the 90's and have rebuilt hundreds of suspensions, I even know better than to assume endlinks are equal on both sides already! ), you can still make a stupid n00b mistake if you're not paying attention.

So far, I called two hyundai dealerships, Rick Case Hyundai and King Hyundai. Rick case wanted $97 each for the endlinks! That's crazy! King Hyundai is much more reasonable at 45 for the right and 55 for the left. Neither dealer stocks the parts, and it will take 3-4 business days to get here. I'm going to see if I can find the parts online somewhere.

OK here are some pics of the bent endlinks-

To answer the questions people reading this in the future will have:

1. Could you feel that there was an issue with the endlinks?
No- I could not. The car was smooth and stable, no strange noises, no handling problems at all. Handling remained much improved vs stock the entire time

2. Can you repair or re-use the endlinks?
No- they are totally ruined. They must be replaced. I will be driving with no rear endlinks installed until I get new ones.

3. Is driving with no rear endlinks dangerous?
No- not at all. It does change the handling characteristics of the car though, there will be a lot more understeer. Auto-x racers frequently completely remove their rear bars , I did also with the Miata.

4. Were the bent endlinks dangerous?
Probably not. I'm not going to say they were "totally safe" but there was no danger of my suspension falling apart or anything like that. The worst thing that would have happened is some handling unpredictability at the extreme limit, which I luckily had not reached yet since I haven't even had my final alignment done. This is more of an expense and inconvenience than a safety problem, and driving an understeering pig of a car for a few days is going to piss me off as well. The endlinks would have been at least somewhat effective even when bent, just not anywhere as stiff as they should be.

5. Was the sway bar damaged ?
No, luckily the sway bar was completely fine, not warped or bent in any way. It makes sense that the endlinks would bend and not the bar, in a situation like that the bending would happen at the weakest link. I did get a couple of light scratch marks on my sway bar from them touching the endlink mounting tabs on the control arms.

6. What are the part numbers for the replacement parts?
I'll post that as soon as I get them.

7. How pissed off are you right now?
Very.

I really must thank TrackAttack78 though, without his post i'd have gone much longer without checking my suspension out again!

I am willing to bet the bending happened within the first day of driving the car after putting the springs on.

I just ordered the ones from your ebay link Thanks again. $46 shipped was not going to be a price i could beat

Thanks for the write up. I wasn't planning on ever lowering my car, but after reading your review, I think I'm gonna go for it with this kit.

Hawt. Just made the decision, I'm dropping on springs and when my stock struts go pop I'm replacing them with coilovers

Now to go find my widowmakers to disassemble my stock struts..

I finally went and got my alignment done I had it done at :

Elite Roads
1101 West Commercial Boulevard Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
800.801.7156

Here are my final numbers-

Before-

After-

Always remember, when getting your alignment done, if the shop doesn't use a machine made by "HUNTER" , you need to go somewhere else.

Up on the rack- ( the checkered pads are used for laser alignment , they are so precise that you can watch your alignment numbers change on the computer screen just from the wind hitting the checker pads )
