I am looking to lower the ride height on the gencoupe and wanted to know what would be the maximum height that it can lowered before having to worry about scraping (mines a daily driver and streets in Toronto are not car friendly

I'm running on Tein's which I believe is a 1.2" drop front and rear. Live in the GTA and have zero issues scraping. I could go a bit lower but past that stage in life of having my daily driver slammed to the ground.

Pro Kit. Just got mine installed this past weekend. I was still able to go head on into most driveways. No need to angle it. Of course just go slower than before and you should be good.

[semi-rant] People always say, "Oh, I have bad roads, I have bad roads, blah blah blah..." You know what? It's not that serious. Drop your freaking car, and move on with life. I dropped my car darn near 2" and I've scraped maybe five times...with AGGRESSIVE driving. There are areas in my town with "bad roads"... I drive through them just fine. I don't even avoid them. Sure, there are a few dips and bumps I slow down for, but... "Bad roads" will never stop me from modding my car. [/semi-rant]

i slammed mine on coils and scraped on everything... so disregard above post. most speed bumps are about 2" so as long as you're above that you will be fine without angling. take it slow and angle if you can but any lowering spring will be fine without scraping.

Ok just my 2 cents....... my previous car was a 09 rx8 and I slammed this thing soo low i couldn't even pass over any and i mean ANY speed bumps and this was my daily driver. Now i didnt want this issue with my genesis but i wanted to appear as low as coilovers so i got the Ksports that lower the car approximately 2 inches. I have had these on the car now for about 1.5 months now they seem to have settled beautifully and my handling is awesome. Now to the point of this post i have absolutely no issues over speed bumps, driveways, pretty much anything I have had 4 ppl in my car totaling well over 600lbs and i never scrapped anywhere.
I live in toronto as well and you should be pretty much good to go 2 inches no problem. Hope this helps. regards, |

Any spring set keeps you safe of scraping. As far as coils any lower than 2" or so and you have to be careful of things. Especially if your exhaust hangs low or if you have any lips body kit etc...

You're asking a loaded question. My response was to let you know only YOU know how low is low enough. Maybe you rarely encouter a large dip or speed bump, maybe where you drive is littered with pot holes and steep inclines. People who generically answer this question without knowing YOU, YOUR car and YOUR driving routes/habits can't advise you to the best answer.. Personally, I just want to be slammed. ![]() DSC00858 by dopepushers, on Flickr |

I drive on sportlines in New England all year long and don't scrape. Perfect height
35,000 miles on my sportlines, no complaints.
