If you wanted us to send the ported/polished core to you it would be an additional $200 which we would refund completely back to you when you send us back your old oem core.

Make sense? Sometimes these core exchange programs can get a bit confusing.

Still waiting on power gains from this. There's power to be gained, but how much. 10whp? That would be my guess on what something like this would give if the port matching is as bad as I've heard.

GS, any thoughts on the "golf ball" effect on turbulent air in regards to PnP'ing (Port 'n Polishing) the manifold? I believe in port matching, but when you get rid of the "golf ball" effect, you can create more drag, thus less air flow, and less power. You are PnP'ing only a section of the manifold (essentially just port matching), but any drag added can hurt performance. If the pros of PnP'ing outweighs the drag added, then why not PnP the entire thing (like say extrude honing). There's also a thread started on this discussion (though not complete):
polishing the intake manifold bad?

A gain in power is the bottom line, so a dyno test would negate any discussion on this. Now lets see some gains.

Oh i hear you McFly, numbers are always really good. The problem right now is we don't a dyno with only the porting changing, we've done a ton of mods this past year. the car has been taken apart for awhile but once its back up and running in a few months we will be able to get it to the dyno and get a good back to back for you(its winter here, car goes no where in snow).

As for final finish of porting, we do not bring it to a mirror finish so there is still a slightly rough surface. For the intake manifold, the biggest gains are coming from port matching. Getting rid of those big steps in the flow path help a good amount. The best of both worlds would be to get extrude honed AND port matched. Problem is that extrude hone is going to run you $500+ and there is no way we can justify charging $500 for extrude hone for say only 5-10 horse. We can justify charging ~200-300 on porting work though for 10 horse. We've had a couple users come back to us with around 8-12hp increase which is an estimate has most, if not all, have changed other items at the same time.

Sounds good. I think it's worth it with or without a dyno, but you know, people are always wanting to justify power per dollar with a dyno. Soon, I'm sure, someone will do it... or, at least I hope.

Thanks, but I'm looking for actual flow results from a flowbench
