Is this a conservative tune because td04l-19t are making the same amount of power

Im sure with it being a canned tune of course it will be conservative and the 19T's can make up to 315WHP.

side note, 19t is clipped turbine wheel this means the turbo is less efficient in it's power making. vs the 16g isn't clipped....

It is still a TD04 format which allows it to spool up fast but then also drop off power as revs increase. Take a look at the graph from the TD05-16G side by side with the TD04-19T from a competitor. Higher torque numbers are possible with the TD04-19T because of the quick spool yet peak HP happens way before the redline and drops down as revs go up. TD05-16G Only goes one way... UP... It keeps pulling all the way to redline and peak HP is met almost at the Rev limit. This allows the user to drive normal without spooling and then also have the ability to just down shift and go at will as well. It is also a lot easier to ramp up the PSI with your foot since the turbo is bigger and can control spool a lot easier than smaller turbos.

I think no one has answered because...well... usually when it says "requirement" (like it does in the OP) that means... it's required
![]() But in all seriousness, I'm guessing it's not required in the sense that your car would blow up if you didn't have it, you just wouldn't see the same gains as are listed in the OP, you'd probably give up 10-15whp without the TBE. Someone else please correct me if I'm misleading this poor gentleman.

I believe you are correct. Sure you may not have to run a TBE but if BTRcc says you will make 310hp with this EXACT setup there going to tell you exactly what you need. My guess is you will prob lose 15-20hp as the turbo will spool slightly slower. |
