Easy install?
I'm a bit sceptic at that price....

What about 55w kits? I had a 35k on my Elise, but it was too dim. When I switched to a 55k, it made a huge difference.
Also, you might want to find a local member and whip up a DIY so people around here can see how easy the install is. Should help sales quite a bit--just like with the Tiburon community.

I wouldn't recommend changing out the high beams with HID for the simple fact that the housing is not designed for it, no cut off line or even focusing lens, the light would go absolutely everywhere and blind everyone around you.. The stock low beam lens has the HID cut off line already, whether you have stock HID's or not, so changing this should be fine.
DD: So if one were to install fogs and heads, could they share the same relay harness, or would they need two of those as well? can you give a discount for purchasing both? Do your H3's include a proper HID focusing lens?

I agree, HIDs are not meant for high beams, simply because when you flash people, it would not really work, as HIDs need to ignite and warm up (which only takes a second, but would be inappropriate for flashing your high beams). Also, they are reflector style housings, which would make the extra light from HID go everywhere, and lend to a large amount of glare.
You would need two, unless you want them to always turn on at the same time! I can't give a discount for two, because, as you'll see if you look around online, our prices are already extremely low (all other companies selling Precision brand HIDs have price points well above $100). No, we do not offer any kind of focusing lens- I know of very few places that do... you would basically need a new headlight assembly to get the HID optics. But the Genesis low beam already has projectors, not reflectors, so there is not a problem changing low beams like there is with the high beams. (As you said) Thanks! Paul |

Not sure if you noticed, but I was asking about a lens for the H3 bulbs, I have the KP Race Engineering - SequenceGrill and I'm not sure how these will aim as I haven't installed them yet, but I do not want too much glare..

Well the sequence sets do not come with a lens themselves, the are molded fiberglass with a "socket" space the size of a standard H3 housing and come with a set of bulbs, so yours would be replacing the bulbs that came with the frame.. nvm I'll try to figure it out at a local shop and see how it works, then order from you.

Doesn't the GenCoupe use H11b bulbs for the low-beams? From what I understand, there are *some* fitment differences that *can* cause problems...
What's your take on this, Paul? Are you familiar with the differences between the regular H11 and the H11b bulbs? Also, are these kits you sell re-based D2S bulbs? Thanks in advance! -Paul Last edited by Minawee; 06-23-2009 at 09:19 PM.. |

Hello!
Yes, I am. Actually, H11 bulbs fit just fine with very slight modification. No need to buy expensive specialty H11B kits. From a poster who did the easy modification: when you get the h11 bulb, you need to cut off the black piece near the connector, that protects the two male outlets. Then you just cut off the tip of the black piece where the screw is ment to sit (end piece sticks out) near the wires that run to your headlights. It's simple and easy; takes roughly 5-10 minutes for both. Thanks! Paul |
