Default Quad Bi-Xenon HID Headlights - AMAZING Light Output Pics and Video inside!

Video coming soon

I've done a handful of these Quad Bi-Xenon setups using Mini Morimoto H1 HID Projectors and my laser cut adapter plates. Essentially, I'm opening the headlights, removing the housing that holds the stock projector and high beam bulb, and installing 2 new projectors into it. On the low beam side, this is very simple, as I just back out the 4 screws holding the projector assembly in place, remove the old projector and line up the new projector using the adapter plate, then I put the 4 screws back in... DONE!

Next I remove all the hardware from the high beam side, the little metal cone, the screws, the bulb, etc. I grind down the front side of the reflector area, and in this case I have to do it perfect since it was left chrome instead of being painted black like most people want (check my other recent thread about the black switchback headlights to see that). Then I bore a hole straight through the reflector and grind the backside of the housing perfectly flat, as close to parallel with the projector section on the low beam side as I can get it. Then I mount the 2nd projector in the high beam side, and install the HID bulbs so I can align the cut off lines.

This is the hardest part, and requires that first the low beam side is all secured in place, since I'm matching the high beam side with it. The trick here is to get the high beam side, just below the low beam side, and very slightly offset either left or right depending on which headlight I'm working on. The outcome is something like this:

I use the hanging blowfish to calculate the prism effect of the reflecti..... hehe, j/k

Here is what the same shot looks like when both projectors have the high beam activated:

They both have a little window the flips down inside of the projector, so while the HID bulb itself isn't Bi-Xenon, the projector changes the light output from low beam (with a cut off line) to high beam (no cut off lines, just all the light dumping out unobstructed).

You can see the little spring and shield in these pictures below. The top pic shows the low beams, and the bottom pic shows the high beams activated:

Other than that, the only mods I did on this job was painting the main housing (bezel) Satin Black, and installing a set of Blacked out Switchback LED bulbs. Keeping the Amber reflector really looks nice and clean on a setup like this. Overall, some of my cleanest work to date, and one no nonsense build! I like doing all the bells and whistles to make my customers happy, but everyone once in a while its great to do a job thats just straight performance like this!

Little specks are just something unavoidable when using headlights that have seen some miles. Perfectly clear headlight lenses are only ever really seen on showroom floors, or on show cars that never get to use all their hookedupness!

Here's a good couple shots of the backs to show the HID bulb wiring that hooks up to the two ballasts per headlight:

Here's some earlier output shots! I changed the alignment slightly afterwards. Keep in mind, this is only one side, the final output shots will have both headlights on DOUBLING this output!

Nice. Looks easy enough to do, but again that's how you make everything look.

lol, that's a great compliment! When it takes 5 minutes to do a write up like I just did, and only seconds to read it, its easy to miss the 1-2 weeks worth of man hours I put into it

I know I am gonna cringe at the answer, but what's the price on this exact setup?

Not bad actually. I think I just realized I sent him the black switchback bulbs for free, lol, what an idiot...

775 total before the switchbacks, +68 if you wanted them exactly the same. If you had me build a set of cores for this, then add another 100. Worst case scenario you'd be looking at 1000 shipped give or take 15 bucks up or down depending on shipping rates, but then you'd need to pay to have your stock lights shipped to me.

But best case, you ship me your lights cheap, I do the mods, and send them back, you'd probably spend about 100 in shipping both ways, 943 total for this exact build. Cheap and retrofits dont really belong in the same sentence, lol.

So I was thinking more about this and was wondering how it all connects up? Do you just plug into stock connectors or does it have to be jerry-rigged? Was then thinking that there is no reason why I couldn't send you a halogen light setup instead of my OEM HIDs. Correct? Just trying to make sure I understand everything.
Thanks
