How did you manage to secure the boot to the knob?

what am I doing wrong. I can't beleive I'm failing at installing such a simple mod

The locking washer provided in package is to help position 490 shift knob and the logo to seat properly. The shift boot should be able to attach to the locking washer without any problem once the shift knob is securely screwed down.

Yea, the bolt isn't wide enough. I got a 10mm washer at the hardware store, tried that.... didn't work because it wasn't wide enough either. After that I went to pepboys and found a type of washer that was wider, however they didn't have metric sizes. I had to get a .375" which I drilled out to 10mm. Just go to pepboys or a good hardware store, find a wide washer and you'll be set.

Yea had the same problem with the boot but just find a washer that's just wide enough to go over the threads but not the main portion of the stick. it's really simple just put it under the locking bolt, had the perfect size laying around the garage.

Overall very satisfied, its a great knob turned out flawless and feels perfect in the hand. Good weight, not to mention the mirror polished neo looks sick in my car!!!

I just got my Neo shift knob in the mail and it looks great, but I was a little bummed to see it got a scratch from the locking nut that was right next to it. Just for future packages maybe you guys should put the nut somewhere else in the foam.
