Default Colored Brake Pads (non-brembo)

So I have a 2.0 Base, without brembo brakes, but I'd like to get rid of the stock silver calipers and get something cooler looking, preferably red orange or yellow..could have them painted a different color, or can I easily buy and replace them with some flashier ones? Thanks

you can paint the calipers yourself. i've used G2 paint on one of my previous cars and it held up pretty good.

Y'know... painting calipers isn't easy to do. You can really hose it up and make it look bad. There is a company in california that does "caliper covers". In fact, here they are:

2009-2012 Hyundai Genesis 2.0 Turbo (V6 only) - MGP Caliper Covers

though their descriptions really suck, so if you went that route I'd definitely find out which ones are the right ones. I met the owner at SEMA, really nice guy.

^ FYI on "Covers" they also choke the calipers from air then is necessary to cool them. More heat less stopping power, and more warping rotors.

Dupli-Color :: Caliper Paint

Dupli-color works well for me for my past couple cars. (Brembo on the Genesis so i dont have to worry).

I pretty use a wires brush, hooked into a drill, sand the crap out of it, cover up the areas (Suspension parts, fenders) with papers, pre it with cleaner, then primer, then paint and let it sit for an hour.
Then again, paint isnt easy, so if u had no idea, practice outside first and look at videos and stuff.

Here what i done last summer (do it only when it atleast 80F outside)

nope i left my calipers on when i did it on my rx8. the g2 kit i got comes with the wire brush and caliper cleaner to prep before paint. i just taped off hoses and such so that no paint/cleaner would get on it. and if i remember correctly the g2 uses a brush and not spray so you won't have to worry about overspraying onto the fenders. both g2 or duplicolor are good though so it's up to you which one you want to go with

^ My brother used the G2 for his car, it lasted for only a year before chipping off.

I've painted mine before. Black is the only color to consider otherwise trying to clean them will become tedious. And brake parts cleaner will dissolve most paints.

The base brakes aren't exactly attractive. I wouldn't want to bring attention to the fact they are ordinary disk brakes like a camry or any other modern car would have (except the jetta. lulz for drum brakes).

those covers won't effect your brakes at all DD, it doesn't cover the whole brake if you would take time to look at it on the website you would know this

Sorry to revive but on the caliper covers website it says the covers for the gen only work on v6 models..but aren't the base 3.8 brakes the same as the base 2.0's? Does anybody have caliper covers on their 2.0? Thanks
