Default Enkei 20 inch wheels and sportlines

I have eibach sportline springs and I want to get enkei 20 inch wheels. The sizes are 20x8.5 in the front and 20x9.5 in the back. The only thing I don't understand is the offsets. Everyone on this forum recommends low offsets, but tire rack reccomends these wheels in a +40 offset all around. Also I would be running a 245 35 tire in the front and a 255 35 in the rear. I just want to make sure these will fit before I buy them. I've searched an cant find anyone running that size and offset.

Wow those offsets are high.. Yes it will fit with plenty of room to spare.. You might need a spacer

I knew they were really high. Would tire rack recommend a wheel that wouldn't clear the brakes. I don't understand the way offsets work.

Lower offsets mean wheel moves further away from your car

So the offsets are terrible. But.. It's what I like and I don't track the car so performance loss isn't a big deal. What size front and rear spacer would you reccomend to make them fit good with the sportlines. I don't want to have to stretch tires too much or rediculous camber

Just get some wheels with lower offset(E20 -15). High offset wheels that are lowered look stupid. Spacers are for people who accidentally buy high offset wheels and for people with OEM wheels.

Tire rack suggests those offsets because it's comparing them to the OEM wheels, but if you want it to be flush and look good, not all sunken in like the OEM wheels, you're going to want an offset of about +15 on those wheels, front and rear. This number changes though depending on the widths of your wheels.

Please don't band-aid a wheel purchase with spacers. yimnvs is dead-nuts on.

This is what happens when you buy wheels with offset too high. This is a bit exaggerated because 350z can handle a really wide and low offset wheel. If you plan on lowering your car the high offset will even be more pronounced because your wheels will naturally camber in when lowered.

To the OP.

The offset you are recommended will most likely NOT clear your brakes, especially if you have brembos.

The stock offset on an r-spec (and most likely stock) Is a +35. So going to anything HIGHER than that is a big NO NO.

You have to do your homework on wheels. Getting a +20 offset doesnt necesarily mean it's going to stick out more than say a +30. This is because you also have to take into account wheel width. (If wheel A is 9.5 +20 and wheel B is 10.5 +30 the way they stick out will more than likely be about the same)

Also, I would not recommend running 245's in the front. You might have some rubbing issues, especially if you're lowered. Stick with 235's in the front, and run 255+ in the rear.

Good luck!

That pic HAS to be photoshopped..
There's a chick out here in my area that drives a 350z with super high offset wheels (look like they should be on a scion tc) and it looks HORRIBLE, but in no way does it look like the picture above.

you can run a 245 on the front. It may or may not rub depending on wall height, rim width, offset and how low you are. There are guys on here with 255 and even 265 on the front.
