Default Does this sound plausable?

Ok So i bought a used GEN C at Carmax, its a 2010 2.0T Premium.

I noticed after i got it there is a dull roar from the front when taking curves

I took it in for service (my wife did) and they told her that the tires are incorrect on the front (too aggressive) and that they would put new tires on it. Now my feeling its a bad wheel bearing-hub in the front

Any opinions?

Only times the tires would be making a roaring noise is when they have been neglected and not balanced and out of round. I agree with wild bill, what is the size that was on the car. I am leaning towards bad wheel bearing as constant low roar is more inline with a wheel bearing tires would cause a osolation (sorry terrible speller) in pitch and noise not a constant noise.

Man I can't type today. Ment to say. Maybe their service dept rotated the tires not knowing that they are wider.

Tires that have alignment wear in paticular can cause excessive noise, if they become "cupped" or feathered this uneven wear can cause air turbulance around the tires giving off excessive amounts of drone or "roaring" in your case. Running your hand around the tire is the easiest way to tell, if theres any lumps felt, or if the tire is smooth with your hand travelling one way but sharp travelling the other. Without hearing your noise myself it is possible it is due to an aggressive tire tread, its not uncommon for a sport tire to trade off noise for performance(I'm assuming the tires are not the oem potenza's? as they are far from aggressive)

Yeah as long as you own the vehicle and have the title. Your bumper to bumper is 60k 60 months. So yeah your golden just bring it into a dealer and tell them your problem. They might make you pay for a diag which is 100 to 120 depending on dealer and service advisor. If it's a dealer warranty issue your diag is covered under warranty. Good luck
