Many of these failed wheels people talked about have been on track. There is a list of impressive wheel manufacturers that have seen failures on track (BBS, Kinesis, SSR, many different OEMs, etc). Most race cars replace wheels on a schedule even if they do not see stress cracking. Higher power loads, braking load and lateral loads mean fatigue can a role not seen by the typical street car.

No matter who the mfr is, track wheels should be inspected regularly and retired when stress cracks appear.

Oh I knew it would happen. Check two posts after I put up the picture.

Ok, I stand corrected, they are still for sale.

Notice I said "I THINK", because I was not sure.

I've personally used Rota wheels a bunch. I have a good relationship with the main distributor of them in the states, and they've always hooked me up with the new models. I've probably put a couple hundred thousand miles on different Rotas over the years, and they've treated me really well.

Rota Torque R

Rota DPT

Rota Gforce

Rota Formula Mesh

These are just half of the sets I've had.

I think he means the price of the Nismo's makes the Volks look cheap.

Thanks

I agree with Hooks . . .I'm going the Rota route. It's the closest thing I can find that looks like the Volk rims but doesn't cost me $700 a rim.

Yes it's a cheap knockoff and yes the quality will be a lot less but visually I like it.

I'll just get some volk stickers to put on the rim and nobody will know the difference!

Im fine with all of this except the end. Don't put Volk stickers on them. Who cares if someone knows they are knockoff. Don't pose and say they are something they aren't.

Really? I'd love to have you show me where?

Go look up Work Emotions. They are around 1400 Brand new retail if i remember right. Negotiate with the dealer/shop to get a better rate. I shopped around for XD9s in 18 x 10.5 + 18 a few months back and it was around 12XX + tax.

Tire rack sells RPF1s, depending on size for around 1200-1400 bucks.

I was perusing the Rx7club and i saw a few Type Cs and Integral GT2s going for the 1400-1500 dollar price range.

You need to shop around a little. If you are keen about quality, hook or crook, you will find it I can get SSRs at close to cost too, so 18s is like 2300-2400 a set for me. (18 x 10.5)

Price to weight ratio on those RPF1's is pretty good. Work Emo's are burned in my opinion.

Yeah, the Emotions are heavier than what they should be. But, like they all say, it's the looks that matter right?

It's an entry level "higher end" wheel basically.

I've had probably 10 sets of Rotas so far. No issues with any of them.

Funny thing about Rota's, I have never heard so many complaints about one wheel company before. Don't know how true alot of it is, but man there is alot of bad feedback about them.
