Default Stoptech 6pot and 4pot Brake Kit (2 piece slotted rotors)

Sorry admin if you feel this is a repost from the exterior thread, but I figured people in the suspension area might want to know.

You can order through ModeRacing, and they come in the standard colors, red, black, etc.

6POT - 2 piece slotted rotor

4POT - 2 piece slotted rotor

I know nothing about brakes.. lol
What is involved in installing something like this and what's the general price range?
I like the look of the slotted rotors and I'm also looking ot upgrade from the base model brakes, but I don't want to have to buy 19's to clear it..

Install is not too complicated, a few bolts, change the line (assuming you get the bbk with stainless steel lines) bleeding your lines should be the cause for most annoyance (brake fluid can be bad for some parts, and this process is meh). Clearance will be the biggest concern, 18inch rims might be ok... check what the red ModeRacing car has for rim size... they might be 18's

They (Mode and Stoptech) are working on test fitment for the tract pack. I am not certain about base, but they could run a 4-pot setup in front as there was some debate about this for this car. You could just run the rotors if they are the right size. This will help with looks and some performance gains.

The cost is something you would have to contact ModeRacing about... their sells contact is on their blog . I don't want to post it directly here as I don't want to upset the moderators for any reason. But you can go specifically to here to find out more The 3.8 V6 Coupe gets its Stoptech Big Brakes! MODE Racing Blog - The full blog is just moderacing.wordpress.com

Slotted rotors are nice for tract as drill rotors are more susceptible to cracking under heavy track use. Slotted helps provide better grip and cooling as compared to standard rotors; but they ware the pads a bit faster. The two piece rotor also helps with controlling temperature and issues with expansion and contraction of the rotor.

But again I am no car expert , talk to ModeRacing for additional information as there is much to know about most topics.

$3100 is not too bad for a bbk that will actually perform well

Ummm... these outperform the Brembos in a big way, thats why Billy put them on the car.

Regardless, that's a cash number I can't cough up, no matter how awesome the brakes are, LoL...

I thought SFR was selling the oem brembos? Maybe Im mistaken. Brembos with Hawk HP's for Frixa pads and ss line will perform well enough for 99% of the people on here even the weekend racers.

And so will base model brakes with EBC/Hawk/Rotora pads, slotted rotors & SS lines, but nobody wants to admit it, otherwise it would suck the wind out of the WE GOT BREMBOS ON MOTHERF*CKING HYUNDAIS MAN marketing campaign.

Or you can scavenge some from a STI , But I think the rotors won't fit.

The base brakes with the same pads rotors and lines will not perform as well as brembos with the same mods. Maybe for a few hard stops but not on a roadcourse or autoX IMO

No, they won't perform as well, but you would be surprised what they will handle for every day hard road driving and average auto-X / road course weekend warrior gigs.
