Hopefully I'll be one of those in line for the next set. These might be stupid questions, but I'm a noob when it comes to car repair, modding, etc.

1. How can you tell when it's time to change brake pads?
2. Is a brake pad change something that is easy to DIY (specifically for the non-brembo brakes)?
3. Aaaaand possibly the most ridiculous question of all (but I'm paranoid and just want to make sure)...Anything wrong with swapping out the OEM pads and saving them for later, or buying Frixa pads and waiting for OEM pads to wear out before installing the Frixa ones? i.e. Do the pads wear out over time when put in storage?

typically, pads have a wear indicator (metal) which will squeal against the rotor when the pad gets worn down.

pads can sit for a while, won't go bad. i guess if you leave it soaking in water, or in some acid or something it will go bad, but they typically have a very long shelf life

how to do your pads:
1. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket (knuckle mounting part : D).

2. Loosen the guide rod bolt (B) and remove the caliper body (A).

3. Replace pad shim (B), pad retainers (C) and brake pads (B) in the caliper bracket (A).

btw guys, it would be great if you would run a v/t engineering sticker. lemme know if you want a black or white one. if you don't plan on running a sticker, that's fine, no hard feelings

there's one on my fender and one on my hood. that's the design.

10" in length. letters will either be black or white (your choice). the slash between the letters will be the yellowish orange that my current V and T are right now on my car.

Meh, that's a little big/obtrusive Chris, otherwise I'd love to.

They aren't that big. The ones on his car are huge compared to these. I'd post a pic of it on my car but I can't decide on where to put it.

10" long, with that height ratio still seems like it wouldn't fit anywhere very nicely, but if I see some example locations that I like I might. If you want to toss it in the box with the pads, go for it and I'll see if I can find a good place for it. I'd like to put them somewhere near the parts they represent, so I guess the fenders are the only location, and since you aren't really sponsoring (sure it's a great deal and you aren't making much profit, which we all do appreciate) it's hard to justify obvious exterior decals to me.

Example: Forged Performance gave me IC, intake, and exhaust DP for a total cost of $100 (I also had to pay for travel expenses, so on my end I put out quite a bit more than that, but that didn't benefit their business at all) and all they got were my reviews, forum sig, and the decal over my brake light. And since they aren't local and don't have a website, I don't think they are getting any business from my decal. :/

I'd take a white one. No guarantee that I'll put it on, but I'd definitely consider it on one of my 1/4 windows.

just got an update from frixa. they are beginning prototype production now. what they will do first is make the metal portion of the pads - cut to oem size. then they'll have to make sure it fits the non-brembo calipers. next, they will be applying the brake compound to the metal backing. since this is a new product, regulations require that they send them for testing - likely they will work with akebono in japan again in order to get the testing finished. they will then test on a korean gen coupe to make sure there are no issues - if they have their name on it, they want it good.

then once all details are fine tuned, it'll be the quick process of producing the rest of the pads and sending them right over. luckily they'll be able to combine some steps together/do them in parallel, so wait time shouldn't be too bad!
