With the stainless lip if you curb it you are screwed as Rays does not offer a replacement lip for that and I seriously doubt Konig does either.
See post #13.

Those pics didnt show up yesterday before I made that comment but they are there now.

You would not be able to purchase a lip unless it was a multi piece wheel.

I seriously don't understand how people curb their wheels. I've had mine for 2 years and not once have a I curbed them.

I've curbed once. and it was pure stupidity on my part, lol. Fortunately the damage was very minimal and hardly noticeable.

Same here. I can see there being accidents but I know people who curb wheels and continue to. I have a buddy with an Eclipse who took it through a drive thru one night and started to drive up the curb. He tore the wheel all up because he back up, hit it again and again because he couldnt figure out how to get away from it. LOL

Ive ran aftermarket wheels on my cars for like the last 9 years and out of those 9 years Ive only curbed ONE wheel and that was caused by my own stupidity for trying to back down a street next to a curb for about a half of a block when I was 19. lol

Im amused watching people at drive thru's at the bank or fast food joints just straight drive over curbs or ride against them with no cares in the world. Its like they have no comprehension of judging distance or something.

I curbed one wheel because my old driveway down to the parking area behind my last apartment was very narrow with very steep curbs, and you couldn't half see getting into it.. So I was pulling in slowly and heard the crunch and went .

I remember a long time ago someone I worked with took us out to lunch in a new beater he had just bought. His other car was a very nice EG hatch that was clean and very well taken care of.. But there's like a 4" median in the middle of the road and we had to go across.. so he goes "this is why I like the beater" and drives right over it.. haha

Any quality forged, cast or mulitpiece wheel would be good for these cars. SSR, Work, Enkei all make pretty good wheels that come in aggressive sizes that are really affordable these days. A set of 17 inch RPF1s should be less than 1000 dollars and are a great monoblock cast wheel.

You can always copy the look, you cannot copy ALL the engineering.

I dunno, I'm not really feeling those rims. Need to see pics of them on the Gen before I can fully judge though.

Weight is important, but tire and wheel size is even more important to average street and track performance. But I agree with you ^.

Yeah, I think the normal everyday person is just oblivious and runs over the curbs. I think those that curb their aftermarket wheels either have more money than they know what to do with or have cheap wheels. I guess my thing was that, "hell, I spent over $2k on these. No way in hell that curb is coming anywhere near my wheels." For that sake I am happy I couldn't afford wheels until a few years after I got my car, because originally I fell into the oblivious new driver category. lol

Aww, women are getting no respect, lol. I was at a cafe earlier, and watched an Asian lady take nearly 10 minutes to parallel park her car. The passenger had to get out of the car and assist her by using hand signals so that she wouldn't hit the nearby cars. I was lmao the whole time. Stooopid Asians.

I see the pics now but those are RMC center with titanium lip, the centers are RMC fake chrome paint just reflecting the outer lip like a mirror. I've got 2 sets of them. And the lip is rolled onto the other lip if anyone else did not know.

Think of it as a cap over the actual lip that's pressed on around the outer rim edge. It's maybe 1mm or so thick. So if for any reason you ever did curb it you are screwed.

I've been lucky enough to have never curbed a lip on any wheels ever but I've sure sold a ton of wheels to people that seem to like to drive up the side of any and everything in existence!

Some other company named Ti Wheels has about 10 or so different styles of wheels all with the Titanium style lip on it and they are very cheap. They call them Neo Chrome or something like that..
