Turbo Gen Coupe vs Nitrous Gen Coupe ,Houston TX area

Any Turbo Gen Coupe or Nitrous Gen Coupe care to meet up at Royal Purple Drag Strip to see which set up would produce good 1/4 #'s .I've been tinkering with my Nitrous GC and would like to make a comparison with a turbo GC in the 1/4

Once I get my cam phasers changed out, I’ll run ya. I need to see what I can get the new girl to do anyway.

The exhaust cam on the passenger side is 50* retarded, was that way when I bought her from Terrance. I have a new set, just gotta change them.

Nah, not everybody drives the weak 2.slow. With good tires and decent hook, times should be reasonable.

It doesn't have anything to do with the engine, it's the tires, track conditions, driver and launch. This is NOT a drag car as with all IRS cars. I eliminated my wheel hop but now I just spin like crazy

Yes, but those are all things that can be adjusted or managed. There are people that have successfully pulled sub-2 second 60’ out of this platform reliably, so it can be done. Combine that with a higher top end power (particularly boost by gear) and good rubber and you can have both a good launch as well as enough power to pull decent times. It won’t ever be the best platform of course, but there are things that can make it better.

I'm to that point not to respond to those that make statements about anything involving racing when they don't have a clue about what they are talking about(Thumb5) .You are correct Gowen, my 60foot is in the 1.80's,I don't run a Turbo of course, but do run at this point(ONLY/backed it down a bit) 100 rwhp NOS and water/meth with there perspective controllers .My controllers and 30 plus years of racing gives me the edge in the 1/4 because I can tune to traction conditions with ramp set % and timed to full hit Nitrous delivery .Despite what the no clue fella(Thumb5 ) said the 2015-up Mustangs,Camaros , Corvettes ,Nissan GTR,350,370z's and many other types are IRS and run deep in the 6,7,8,9 and 10's in the 1/4 with OEM style IRS still in place, that being said,IRS cars can and have put down some good 1/4 times .I dialed my GC back some but am running 3.909:1 gearings now and Potenza sticky RE-71r 285-35-19 rear tires(no more Drag radials),setting my gen up for street mostly.

What tires did you used to run? I am on RE-11s but will be switching to Proxes R888 when these are done.

I am boosted and on original build of just turbo at 7psi, intake and exhaust with BTR dyno ECU tune and TCU tune, car dyno'd 422.5whp/412tq (meth was not working). Have not dyno'd since recent build which has low end forged, b&b, p&p top end, high volume in tank pump, HPFP mechanical pump, carbon driveshaft, a lot of cooling enhancements, meth now working, carbon fiber hood/trunk/diffuser, and Recaro seats...I expect numbers to be higher and I am lighter so quicker on "the streets".

Proxes r888r are good tires, they work well at the strip too. There was a IRS car here at the strip last year that ran a high 9's in the 1/4 .They are a bit loud when cruising because of the tread design .I like the the potenza RE-71R because they hook on the streets .
