Car is smoking after the transmission fluid change

A few days ago, I ordered 4 quarts of Redline MT-85 from the vendor directly. I took my car to a local shop and they changed my transmission oil. After they were done with the work, I drove the car, but I did NOT feel any difference. Anyways, as i drove the car, I started to smell something burning. I thought it was just smoke from outside, but when I arrived home and opened the bonnet, I noticed the smoke was coming from between downpipe and the transmission box. However, after my car was cooled, I drove it again and the car was okay as far as I can feel. Should I feel a huge difference after the fluid change? My genesis is 2011 R-spec. I did not have any grinding or significant transmission issue, but I wanted mine to be a little bit more smooth, but now that I switched the fluid, I guess it's only causing more problems than before. Also, do you guys have have any suspect of the cause of the smoke?

Not for horsepower but just smoother gearing and less chance of syncros getting trashed in these trans

Just moved the car from the driveway.... and I noticed there was a small puddle of oils dripping from the tranny box. I'll get it checked up tomorrow. hopefully the oil is not causing any problem, and it shouldn't be right?

check your tranny drain plug. if it and all other tranny bolts are tight, probably just spilled some and it is dripping/burning off like whatever said.

So i took my car to the shop this morning and the techs said all the bolts were tight and nothing was leaking. Instead, they told me that it might be the A/C fluids that are dripping. I'm starting to think that the shop has cheated me because I do not feel any difference when I do gear change. Overall, the transmission feels exactly same as the factory fluid. Also, I smell something burning when I open the hood after ordinary driving which had never happened prior to the oil change. Is there any way to check if the shop used my oil and did everything right?

your not going to feel a night and day difference but it should feel smoother if your trans was notchy to begin with. if it wasnt then i prob feels the same. hyundai now uses redline fluid in the transmissions. if your car is newer then you prob have the redline fluid. the only way to know if drain the fluid and see for yourself but thats a very easy job to do and i highly doubt they did not put it in

Alright, I bought my car about 2 months ago. I assume that the car probably already had a good fluid. Should I worry about the burning smell in the engine bay though?

if nothing is leaking, all fluid levels are normal, and your engine temps are stable, i wouldnt be too worried about it. any dripped oil does takes some time to burn off if it isnt directly on something really hot, like exhaust. it will slowly heat up, burn off a little, then you stop driving so it cools again. give it a week or two, depending on how often and how long you drive.
