FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- To enhance the tunability of its most dynamic performance car ever, Hyundai has teamed up with GReddy Performance Parts to manufacture products for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. These high-performance parts will be displayed on the "GReddy X-Gen Street Genesis Coupe" show car at SEMA 2009. The vehicle from GReddy is designed for the enthusiast looking to make modifications for daily driving or a weekend at the track. All of the GReddy parts designed for the Genesis Coupe are planned to be released as a production kit and available for enthusiasts everywhere. The vehicle will be on display at the Hyundai booth at the SEMA Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center from Nov. 3 - Nov. 6, 2009 (Booth # 24387).

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T will follow the GReddy Total Tune-Up theme that will not only increase the performance of the engine, but also improve handling and braking. The finished car will blend reliable street performance with a powerful driving experience. The initial performance targets of the GReddy-powered Genesis Coupe will be 350 horsepower and 320 ft/lbs of torque with a 0-60 time under six seconds. Following SEMA, GReddy plans to make additional engine modifications, pushing horsepower to nearly 500.

"The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a perfect car for the automotive enthusiast and the GReddy products are designed to maximize the performance capabilities of the vehicle," said Kenji Sumino, general manager, GReddy Performance Parts. "The Genesis Coupe is the ideal car for SEMA and we are building upon the overall concepts originally designed by Hyundai engineers and are looking forward to developing a must-see car at this year's SEMA Show."

Mechanically, GReddy plans to include a GReddy Performance Products Turbo Upgrade Kit, large front-mounted intercooler kit, a SE Spectrum Elite cat-back exhaust system, MX racing downpipe, Type-S fully adjustable coil-over suspension and numerous other modifications. The vehicle will also feature GReddy six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers.

"The performance parts from GReddy allow enthusiasts to capitalize on the rear-wheel drive Genesis platform," said Michael Deitz, manager, product development, Hyundai Motor America. "The modifications made by GReddy to the Genesis Coupe 2.0T will highlight the performance capabilities of the vehicle that can be achieved in a real-world setting."

Styling modifications to the GReddy Genesis Coupe will include an Aero lip spoiler, carbon fiber hood, aggressive rear spoiler, Volk Racing G2 wheels and Toyo performance tires. The unique vehicle graphics will be designed and completed in collaboration with artists from Hyundai's North American Design Center in Irvine, Calif. Inside, SEMA Show attendees will find Sparco racing seats, modified gauges, boost controller and a turbo timer as well as a remote switching system.

Wonder how much it will cost to buy all the Greddy products to get it to 350hp, 320torque, I am guessing 3-5k. But thing is, it says it has 350hp, 320torque why is the 0-60 time under 6 seconds? Shouldn't it be under 5 seconds or so with that kind of torque and power.

That's just what I was thinking. The 3.8 Track is already under 6 seconds so why would someone go through all the hassle and money to do this?

I don't know about under 5 seconds but it seems like it should definitely be well under what the 3.8 is doing... which is 5.5. I would expect around 5 flats...

And 5 flat would be a FUN car!

I can't wait to see the product lineup. I had some Greddy parts on my 08 Si and like every aspect of them. Look, quality, power.

Still weird though 350hp and 320 torque is a sub 6 second car. Wonder if it has anything to do with a poor transmission or rear end not being able to put the power to the ground efficiently.

It should get the 6.0 seconds, but IMO I can't find a big enough BS flag for Greddy on it's performance stats.

How exactly are they planning on getting 350hp without a turbo upgrade of some sort? i / intercooler / tbe + tune will not get you another 150hp...

Pretty sure it will include a turbo upgrade or putting bigger stuff into the stock turbo housing.

I believe that these mods are already on the car if included in the press release

Mechanically, GReddy plans to include a GReddy Performance Products Turbo Upgrade Kit, large front-mounted intercooler kit, a SE Spectrum Elite cat-back exhaust system, MX racing downpipe, Type-S fully adjustable coil-over suspension and numerous other modifications. The vehicle will also feature GReddy six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers.

So as you can see there is a TB kit, FIC, exhaust, headers so I believe that there output numbers are correct but their 0-60 times are off. It should make a faster time than the 3.8 if it is 350 to the wheels and not to the crank but even then it should make faster than 5.5

350 Crank HP guys. Our shop car showed a 20% difference between Wheel HP and Crank HP. With this logic, only 280WHP will have to be reached. This would net close to a 6 second 0-60 time.

Yea that is what I figured...so it should be pretty close to the 3.8 times. Sucks that you would need to spend all that money to get 30+ more hp then the stock 3.8 but the turbo is where it's at. I have the 3.8 so I just get to sit and wait to see what they are going to come out with for us.. see you all in a year or 2 lol....haha

Trust has actually recovered several months ago. Greddy (USA) has been in good shape independently throughout the whole process.

It says right in the 4th paragraph that they are planning a turbo upgrade.

I wouldn't make it in the world as a proofreader. I thought it said Sept 10, 2009 NOT 2008. Old news . . . .

I heard business is struggling with so many knock-off lower quality stuff some of these other comapnies are putting out.

Man I thought just the reflash would put it around 6 sec. since people are getting around 6.5 for a stock 2.0 and the flash nets 30-35hp and 50-70tq. With 350hp it should be real close to 5 sec. if not under a tad...

Stay tuned folks, there is a certain shop here in the great white north that is working on a couple of options for us 3.8 owners, big single or a twin design.

Our winters are looooong and we got nothing better to do than R&D work in a nice warm shop soooo...

I also guareentee you it wont be a year or two before there is something available, maybe even by late December, spring of 2010 Im betting though.

By the way, feel free to let me know just what set up you guys think would be best or what is prefered
