2.0 BK1 Engine swap to 2.0 BK2 Engine

Hello so i have searched high and low for several months on the difference between the performance for BK2 2.0 and BK1.
Long story short, got my BK1 in 2016, got a reflash blew the stock motor in 2017, replaced it with a 2013 BK2 2.0 OEM motor everything bolted up and now a year and a half later, BK2 motor lost compression.
If i missed where there’s a post about the swap or the performance differences as far as ECU and injector changes, please post below.

More info on how you blew your first engine? I'm looking for that link that has swap details and different specs

bk1 - 9.4:1 compression
conrods - powered metal manufacting

bk2 - 9:1 compression
conrods - I forgot what, but I know it's stronger than power metal manufacturing

I believe the conrods are the same dimensions-wise
change in compression is because of the change in piston design.

pretty much everything else with the blocks are the same.

Did you only use the bk2 block? Injectors and turbo are different, not sure if you used your tuned bk1 ecu while changing other components. There's too much information you've left out for people to diagnose the issue.

What probably happened, is because of the lower compression, there was more fuel left in the cylinders after combustion.
Causing it to wash the bores. Over time this would wear down the piston rings.

I would just rebuild the engine, since it's just losing compression.
Worst case scenario as far as compression, you would have to bore out the cylinders by 0.5 and get new pistons.

90% of the aftermarket pistons available are 9.4~:1 compression (what you want, unless you want to ecu re-tuned), and 0.5 overbore pistons are readily available, plus they cost the same are their standard bore counterparts.

Best case, you just need to replace the rings and get the ecu re-tuned for the lower compression.

That’s fine. Yes just BK2 block. I have been trying to find posts on people doing BK1 to BK2 block and being successful but i could not find one. Used BK1 injectors and ECU. In the process of going FBO which would have been fine with a custom tune but didn’’t make it in time

What are your compression numbers?
Try a leakdown test.
Are all your hoses connected correctly?

Did you ever run it hot or low on oil? is there any ticking/knocking sounds? I'm starting to agree with AKGC, although I feel like it would take a long time for it to lose compression from such a small difference of compression and fueling but I could be wrong. If gas is making it past the rings your oil would be contaminated too and potentially not lubricating as well which will cause other issues.

Everything was connected. Never got to install gauges but the dash reading never went to the half mark or above it. When i did the compressor test we did it twice and the numbers read (from cylinder 1 to 4): 118, 118, 120, 98. The second time read the following (from cylinder 1 to 4): 30, 30, 120, 115. Did not make any sense.

Originally what happened was i started misfiring really bad and then my car would not allow me to accelerate past 2500rpms. If i went over 2500rpm, the power was lost and i kept slowing down. I pulled over on the side of the road and turned it off, turned it back on and everything was fine.. until i reached 3500Rpm. The next time i pulled over and turned it off, it did not crank or turnover at all and i was left to get it towed to my house. Not sure what caused it at all but after the compression test it kind of makes sense of losing pressure due to NOT getting re tuned

Did you ever compression test or leakdown on the bk2 motor before you drove it every day to make sure it was good? I am just feeling like there is some other detail, or something else that had failed, which lead to your motor losing compression.
