First retrofit hella D1S headlight

This is my first attempt of retrofit
projector : Hella F10 D1S w Sti-R clear lens (e60)
Bulb: PIAA D1S HID Super Cobalt 6200K aka Osram 5400k
housing OEM HID projector housing

I was going to use the spare halogen housing, but the curing and painting process takes way too long and I didn't have enough material to do a proper painting so I decided to let my friends shop to do a proper painting with a nice clear coat to match my car color.

original non projector spread.

the OEM hid projector spread.

Hella F10 retrofit spread.
also this projector is bi-xenon, I wired the solenoid to high beam so I still keep the high beam and the HID high beam.

I am always big fan of Acura, Audi headlight when it does luxury cut off effect.
was planning on add 2way leds signal, 2-way DRL strips, but to me it's too much money just for show.. lol

Have any pics of the two projectors side by side?? (OEM vs aftermarket)

I figured it wouldn't be a bright idea to invest in getting OEM HID headlights since my car did not come equipped with the proper leveling sensors to make the OEM HID headlights function properly.

How hard was it leveling everything??

if you have a spare non projector headlight do the retrofit follow up this DIY its' really helpful,

about the auto leveling, its good thing you DON'T have auto leveling because if you cannot go with lowering spring coilover ect.. cause the sensor is based on the rear height, on the back of the headlight has horizontal and vertical adjustment all you need is a screw driver and wrench or hand to adjust.

@cowcow
Thanks, hated every time i passed by a Acura or Audi their light just covered my OEM output.. lol

I don't have a side by side pic but i can try to take one for you since I have oem hid still.

I'm doing a morimoto mh1 retrofit right now. Really easy if you buy the projectors from flyryde since he has a custom cut adapter plate

I actually just sold my oem hids and got a halogen set in return since I'm replacing the projector anyways

Yeah reason I got these instead is I don't want to put my PIAA bulbs to waste they are fairly expensive in the market.
MH1 ain't bad you should get clear lens while at it. it might already came with clear lens not sure...

The mh1 already came with the clear lense. I believe Flyryde also has a custom adapter plate for the fx-r.

fx-r is a decent projector I would get them but they use D2S bulbs matter fact
TRS rarely stock any D1S projector. they are just not popular.
