Mine took 3 or so months to get to me.
Quality isn't great and required some modification to get a decent fit and all the black paint came off after a while requiring a prep and repaint, look good after all that now though

It actually is if you're not on the forum but once a month. I don't really know all the in's and out's of the forums since I'm not on much and searching doesn't always bring up exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks

There is a company that makes vents for the Veloster and they are prototyping Genny vents. They are very high quality and US made. The Velo ones fit and look perfect.

The functional part of the vents are glued on with an epoxy, which has a few spots of weakness.

Fitment is off, I'll have to take the dremel out to make it flush, followed the instructions/ tips from the importshark guys with no luck.

may also think of a way to make the bond between the cf and metal vent more durable.

bummer that i have to do custom fabs to this product after waiting so long for it.

I know what you mean......you will also find that the black coating is weak too and will eventually start to show its silver side underneath. Pretty poor for the amount of coin...

On a side note ..... RedGennyGenny how was the winter with your catch can ?

I Installed the cc just after the negative temps went away, so no experience with it during winter yet.

MAKE SURE you reinforce the bond between the vent and frame. My turbo side one fell off and got deformed to hell. Now im running slots while waiting on a company to make decent vents.

Just some info about the hood vents....

The current manufacturer who's been making these since day 1 has been shown some of the feedback from customers and they are now going taking the following steps to increase their quality control:

1) Using anodized mesh instead of painted mesh
2) Changing the adhesive to something less viscous and also adding more hold points
3) Using a slightly different type of fiberglass (for painted vents) that will be more heat resistant.

Thankfully, after nearly 600 sets sold so far, we've had an excellent track record with this product and only a handful of issues. The percentages are overwhelmingly positive, but that doesn't mean we don't feel there isn't room for improvement.

IN ADDITION TO THAT....
Due to the constant backorder headaches, we've been searching high and low for a second manufacturer who can handle the intricate details of the production process for the hood vents. We've gone through 6 different companies now, spent quite a bit of cash on having molds made for samples--none of which checked out up to this point--but finally I've found another factory who can handle the project. Pricing will be slightly higher than factory #1, but at least the good thing is that it will alleviate the delivery time backup. The design will be the same, but they will be using a different mesh--though it will also be black anodized. I've got some spy shots of this new factory's version, and will post up a couple later so people can get a sneak peak. There isn't much that's different since the designs are about 99% the same, but it's just to show that this is something we've been working on pretty intently behind the scenes.

The final pre-production samples from this factory are currently en route to my location for testing. As long as they pass inspection, I'm giving the go-ahead for a 50-set production run. Realistically-speaking...figure late July when those will arrive.
