They def aren't gone for me, but maybe that has something to do with me being a vendor, so

I think we should see how it goes. Now that the vendors are all on board we can see if the forums cleaned up a.bit. But I agree with qm. Some of the members that go around posting for companies and have stuff I. Their sig is bull **** and should either pay up or be banned. I can only think of one off the top of my head that does this but he defenately makes it damn clear he has more that an opinion of a certain company that does ecu work.. He is always in tbose "which flash is better" threads just talking it up. It just needs to go. Ive gained alot of respect for some vendors here who early on in this thread helped and were happy to help. As for some,.seriously, wirking with memvers to advertise their opinion as much as possible for discounts and ****? My hell, its out of control.

All vendors should consolidate, bump less(72hr), etc., but either way it doesn't bother me too much to dig through the classifieds.

Thats why there is a classifieds section. If anyo.e wants a product they can go there.

Quartermaster, I think I may remember who your talking about now. And I would hope someone at autoguide is an enthusiast and wouldnt let that happen on their forum they are contributing to. But it does seem like some of their forums are moderated MUCH differently. I guess we just need to keep taking care of problems personally with other members until a pount is made. It would be nice though if everyone would just think and not try to work around the rules.

I'm still adamant about abolishing the vendor classifieds.

Anyway. Can I squeeze blood from a turnip? Nope. LoL

Not that Autoguide would pay for the coding necessary to do this, but wouldn't a good solution to this be to somehow show more threads at once? Maybe on a single page have all the paying vendors be able to display 5 threads and then a tab beneath for "see more from this vendor"?

It might make browsing for members easier and that way we all have our best 5 deals on the front page? (which is ultimately the underlying issue here, who's on the first page)

Then again I'm not sure how this could be implemented through the forum coding.

^i think that if a member posts even that it can show up on new posts. I mean, for how much you vendors pay, you better believe you.deserve to make the front page when someone recognizes you or a sale. We need some more input to figure this one out.

To fbhyundai

Ya. sorry if I was.kinda brutal. Its been brought up alot though and I was frustrated. I havent dealt directly with you, but from the pms ive exchanged you seem lime a.good guy. I know that a few people have mentioned some names and not been happy. Im down for having a good happy community where vendors and members work out happily!

I wonder how hard it would be to set up so each member can just choose which forums they would like to have appear in the new posts section. That way people who want to could block the vendor classifieds and those who want to see it could see them. Personally I'd like to not have to see the posts by RSS-Autoblog and autoguide.com (not the admin but the news reports).

Heck if Autoguide doesn't want to spend money on that make it a feature of being a premium or lifetime member so they get back a chunk of the cost.

Conflict of interest anyone? Does anyone at Autoguide actually USE automotive enthusiast forums or do they just charge for them and collect & tabulate money while eating said second class ham?
A handful of things:
1. Said moderator was in talks about becoming a vendor, but jumped the gun. It's happened to a few pre-banner vendors on here, and they're given a warning to stop until they get the banner.
2. After being given notice, the link/info was removed. Nothing progressed into a paid vendor, so at that point no rules are broken. Same thing has happened to other people who refused to become vendors. As long as they remove the references when asked, they aren't in violation.
3. Plenty of things that people probably think are getting ignored actually don't go unnoticed in the mod forum. We (the mods) agreed, before this situation, that a vendor cannot be a moderator, and vice versa. So if it were ever to progress to that, they'd be expected to step down. There has been no argument against this unwritten rule, including from the one you're pointing the finger at.
4. Chill a bit. Maybe some users on here don't like some or all of the mods, and I'm sure there are plenty of people that disagree with some actions we've taken, but we put in our own time voluntarily to try and keep peace around here and make sure the rules are followed. At least respect that. I'd be lying if I said there hasn't been a time or two that I was fed up and thought about resigning so I didn't have to deal with it anymore, but I like most of the people in this community so I've stuck around, even with the occasional angry mobs, torches, and pitchforks.

Back on topic.. We do have a thread about this issue too, so I know it's being worked on if it hasn't been resolved yet.

What about the vendors pimping and bumping their wares in the main forums, outside their vendor forums.
