I blew past a Lamborghini Gallardo in a parking lot... and I never even left 3rd gear. It was so exhilarating I stopped, backed up, just so I could pass it again!

Where in the world do you work?

I am feeling a little disrespected lately. All sorts of cars have made it difficult for me to merge into traffic, switch lanes, ect... They seem to take it as a personal challenge to stiffarm me. Must be the lights...

I'm pretty sure if the driver were actually in the car, it wouldn't have been nearly as interesting.

It takes me almost 50 minutes to go 36 miles on the way to work, about 35 on the way home haha. But our highways here aren't as cool as yours I'm guessing. 65 max speed limit and for the last 10 miles I'm on the highway it's 55 max and down to 50 in some spots. I also start in the city and end in a city, with 25-30 mph roads (and some 35-45 mph areas).

Whenever a Honda or riced out 4-banger pulls up next to me wanting to race, I just give them a quick rev of the Ark exhaust on a 3.8 and they get the message...lol.

That's why I like the racier GC models and keeping them looking stock, because they don't need modding - unless you want to look like a typical ricer.

----

Edit: For myself, by "ricer" or "rice", I personally do not mean to imply anything about race. You will not meet a stronger champion against the pernicious evils of racism than myself. I've owned a number of imported cars, and I'm only poking fun at those who fool themselves into thinking a set of "rims" or a spoiler automatically takes a car to some greater level of performance or status. To me, that's the funny aspect of "ricing" or "modding", and that's how I read LOUIS' comment.

I hate generalizations. To say that "more" people who generally "have less money" like to rice out their cars is a generalization I do not think I can live with. People do with their cars what they think look good and makes them feel good. Believe me, I have seen my fair share of riced out BMWs, Lexus, and Infinities to know that the only thing that $$$s have an impact on is the price and quality of the rice. Fact is, I have seen ricers that have invested more $$$s in their aftermarket accessories than the car itself.

For the record, I am a "ricer" with a "rice" ancestry. I own a Genesis Coupe 2.0T, not because I could not afford to purchase a "cool and expensive" car, but because for the money I do not feel that there is a better value or better looking car on the road today. Your statement does not speak well of yourself or other members of this forum who had a choice and purchased a Genesis Coupe.

Pretty much same situation as I was in. PCS'ing from Italy to Utah and it'd be about 3 months until I could pick up my other vehicle from being shipped back stateside. Needed a new vehicle. Deal I was working for a G37 fell through when they tried to give me 13+% APR so I walked and got an A/T 2010 2.0T because it was the only one within 100 miles. I do what I can with it, but it's not "ricey" by any means.
