Street Concepts to Develop Customized GenCoupe for SEMA

STREET CONCEPTS TO DEVELOP CUSTOMIZED HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE FOR SEMA SHOW

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 24, 2008 – Hyundai Motor America announced that
it is partnering with Street Concepts, one of the leading developers of auto
show vehicles, to create a modified Genesis Coupe for the 2008 Specialty
Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The all-new, rear-wheel drive Street
Concepts Genesis Coupe will make its SEMA Show debut at the Las Vegas Convention
Center on November 4, 2008. The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will join
vehicles designed by Rhys Millen and HKS as the third Genesis Coupe scheduled to
appear at SEMA.

"Its aggressive, powerful design and high performance attributes make the
Genesis Coupe a perfect vehicle for SEMA," said Shawn Williams, owner, Street
Concepts. "We plan to maximize the driving capabilities of the Genesis Coupe
while striving for a level of practicality so that average consumers can take
ideas from our vehicle and adapt it to their own."

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will be outfitted with a black camouflage,
stealth fighter-inspired paint design that compliments its sports’ styling. The
exterior will also feature a custom grille design, tinted taillights and an APR
rear wing.

"From its inception, Genesis Coupe was developed with the tuner buyer in mind.
The Street Concepts vehicle accentuates the core DNA of the product, born from
enthusiast driver demands," said Derek Joyce, Genesis Coupe product manager,
Hyundai Motor America. "The three Genesis Coupes scheduled to be displayed at
the SEMA Show exemplify the tuner-based performance potential of the vehicle."

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will showcase Volk 19-inch racing wheels,
performance tires, a modified suspension and Brembo brakes. A Magnaflow cat-
back exhaust and cold air intake system will enhance the performance of the 3.8-
liter V6 engine.

Interior modifications include carbon fiber dashboard accents, a custom Infinity
audio system, Cobra seats and black suede accents designed to fit the stealth
jet fighter theme.

HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE HIGHLIGHTS
- Hyundai’s first rear-wheel drive sports car
- 306-horsepower (est.) from enhanced 3.8-liter V6 from Genesis sedan
- Standard 210-horsepower intercooled, turbocharged, in-line 4-cylinder
- Genesis Coupe production model arrives in spring of 2009

That SC on the side should stand for SuperCharged. I guess it's too early to ask for that tho.

Hrm, I actually kind of like the camo paintjob thing.. not sure if I would actually go that route for my own car, but it is definitely cool looking.

That is sick! I wouldn't pay to do that to my own car but I've always knew urban camo and red accents would rock.

I'll pass on this one but the red one was much better minus the wide lower grill on it.

Street Concepts???

I'd love that paint job if it has a matte finish... reminds me a LOT of this S14 especially with the army color and the font style of the letters and numbers...

That S14 is pretty hot. I would have gone a little darker with the paint... that just kinda looks like they got lazy and left it primed.

I was actually thinking the other day that the gencoupe may look pretty hot with a satin finish black... The problem with those finishes is that it is SO hard to keep them looking good.

I love the smoked taillights

I wish the taillights of the factory Genesis coupe would be LED tailligth like the concept. Why not...the whole rear with air traps and especially the nice distinguish rear spoiler.

I like the smoked taillights but I think there is more space for more drop and I would put 1" bigger wheels

Why they couldnt find a deck lid spoiler similiar to the concept instead of that big metal/plastic piece of crap.

I'm surprised they didn't drop that down to the floor, or at least mostly there. It looks good except for the 4x4 thing it has going on.

Fatlace's S14 looked much better when it was green... and that camo GC is freakin hideous.

I seriously hope that SC will do more than put a camo vinyl, fake time attack wheels and a AP racing wing.

I wonder why Hyundai didn't offer the car to more experienced, well established tuners.

Wow, I am pretty sure that is almost stock suspension. I agree, this car could use a lot more SEMA and much less Pep Boys. I give it a 5/10.

If you compare the first pic at the tod against those 2 newer pics...you can tell easily they photoshopped the wheels to a perfect size...and gain the suspension is for a 4x4 monster truck event !

Street Concepts is not the aftermarket company Street Concepts to which I got confused with. This is SEMA! Its a company that prepares cars for manufactures...

Thats all I know
