Intermittent start issue

I hope this is an OK place for this question. And I understand these kinds of questions are difficult to answer, just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and what it might be.

I have this weird start issue with my car, that until recently was pretty infrequent. It is a 2011 gen coupe 3.8 GT. When I push to start, it sounds like it gets stuck trying to turn over. It's like it gets stuck on the middle part of the ignition process if that makes sense. It makes the turnover sound really fast repeatedly over and over again. Most of the time after about 10-15 seconds the car will start eventually. Sometimes it will also kind of rev up and down like it is struggling. And a few times it will fail to start, but always starts perfectly on the second try.

The happened at first like 2 or 3 times in a year. But last week it happened 3 days in a row. Now that I am hyper sensative to it, it of course isn't happening anymore as I am trying to record the start up.

It also seemed to lose power at some point once or twice recently as my settings were reset. I had the battery checked and they told me it was in exceptional health.

Any ideas?

This might sound like a silly question but how low do you let your fuel level in your tank get to? Low fuel can cause some start-up issues similar to what you describe, plus cold weather can sometimes be a factor as well. Also is your car auto or standard?
Do you know if the cold cranking amps were checked when your battery was tested or did they just check the voltage level?

I usually refill the car by the time it hits a quarter of a tank. I don't typically let it get too low. Also, I am in Austin TX so it is pretty warm here. I think it was in the 60's all last week when I had the issue multiple times. Definitely has happened in summer when its really hot.

If it turns over but won't start right away and then fires after a few tries, sometimes that's a problem with the fuel line check valve. If it gets crudded up or worn, it'll give up fuel pressure back to the tank and when you go to start the car, it'll take a few cranks to get fuel to the cylinders and fire up. Also, you may have a leaky injector and a cylinder is getting a little flooded as it sits. After a couple cranks it clears out and fires up.

You need to measure the fuel pressure when the car is sitting and take it from there.
