2014 Grand Touring upgrade to 2016 Ultimate?

Hey I currently have a Grand Touring Model. I was wondering if it's worth upgrading to a 2016 ultimate. I would like to see if the features in the ultimate are worth losing 13k$.
The only upgrades I see the ultimate has that I don't have are brembos, r spec suspension?, spoiler, HID Xenon Lights. I think I have the sound system not quite sure. I know I got the sun roof, leather seats, navigation. Some of the features on the ultimate I know I can get for cheap but new brembos are like 3-5k? Let me know your opinions if I should just stick to the GT; reason I would lose 13k is because I still owe 28k on it and KBB says I can get 18k for my car so I'm guessing the dealer would give me 15k lol. so that's 13k+the new price of the ultimate. I know it looks stupid when you think about it but at my age I make dumb decisions with my money haha.

people are selling brembos a decent amount for 650-800 they are straight forward to put on if you have any brake know how other than cutting the rear dust shields off. suspension you can get true coil overs all around which any model of the coupe is not due to the spring/shock in the rear and from what i can grasp from people is that true coil overs are best and those i would say are 800-1000. definitely not worth losing 13k unless you're in it about the warranty. i would assume you could find the ult HID headlights and swap them into your car if you wanted to. i dont think you would get the auto level because i don't know how that hooks up but a HID kit is 60-150$ and fairly easy to install tbh

Not sure of the exact changes/upgrades they made to each model year/trim, but it would be cheaper to just source and fit the parts to your current vehicle.

If you've done calipers/rotors/pads/brake lines/bleeding before then the brembo swap is a direct fit except the cutting or replacing the rear dust shields. Total costs can range from 1-3k depending on if you just source the calipers and upgrade to aftermarket pads/rotors. Any place that does brakes should charge you the same as changing out caliper/pads/rotors with an added expense of cutting the shields. Also the price can go higher if you decide to upgrade lines and fluid. If you just want OEM brembo, I've seen people sell caliper/pad/rotor packages, but I have the thought process of this: Its a used braking equipment (yes you can inspect and make that there is life left in them) but I don't trust it. Also, why not upgrade everything else while your in there doing the work?

The suspension from base to r-spec is negligible unless you track the car. I wouldn't worry about this difference unless you race. In which case your more then likely going to go for an upgraded aftermarket path anyway. So money saved there.

Spoiler is a matter of taste and subjective. If you must have it, plenty of people will swap there trunks with you, but that requires finding other owners around you or some traveling to meet up. Personally, the BBM lip is a great add-on and not that costly. Just make sure you don't get a cheap ebay poly lip as its hit or miss whether or not they fit correctly. ebay also has oem spoilers as well. Costs for a spoiler can be free up to 1k+ but your talking crazy big wings for the high end or carbon fiber.

HID can get expensive quick. Been awhile since I looked at buying a set of OEM head lights, but it wasn't worth it to me. Your better off getting an aftermarket set. Just do your research and find what works for you.

All in all, its not worth trading in and getting the 16, You can easily save 9k sourcing the parts and doing it self. My estimates are for prices I've seen and without getting actual links/numbers will vary, BUT trust me, your going to save big time by just getting the parts you want and even if you can't install yourself, having someone do it for you.

Edit - Wanted to add, not to mention you can sell old parts as well, may take some time though. I sold my base brake setup within a week, but I got lucky. Only got stuck with 2 pairs of brake lines. Same with your headlights if you went that route instead of a hid kit. Suspension may be hard too, but I got rid of everything except my springs.

i've found a post of a guy getting it done and that he had 18's so im assuming yes. you just need to get obviously pads, rotors, and the calipers then cut the rears dust shield off for them to fit. brembo and regular use a different shield and apparently you could switch them but would require you to pull the hubs and get the brembo ones.

Yes they clear. Even some 17s will clear if you need a winter/drag setup. Not sure of the exact specs to get, but for sure, the OEM 18s clear.

That's an incredibly bad idea.

Not to mention, its not like these cars hold value well, so transferring $13k of negative equity onto a car that's already overpriced and will drop in value similarly is a way to get into a bad financial spot.

Unless you plan on tracking your car soon, instead of mods I'd focus on paying down the car. There's no way you should owe $28k on a car that MSRP'd for $28k two years ago. You should always strive to owe AT LEAST what its worth private party resale so you can unload it should the need arise and not lose your ass; even better is owing less than what you can get out of it.
