Water Leak issues even worse now :(

Ive read the threads about the water leakage and still no solution to mine

I have a massive puddle in the back driver side the carpet is soaked
also when i lift up the back seat by the drive side and i put my hand inside to feel the foam under the seat it is soaked as well

i have a 2012 2.0t

i brought the car to the dealer ship already 3 times and all 3 times they brushed it off saying it is nothing
i even brought it to them with the water in the back and they claim that i actually sprayed water there so i can get some work done to the car for free ( which i totally lost my mind when they said this and i called hyundai Canada about it and nothing has been resolved or it has not gone anywhere else )

my car actually has a disgusting smell to it now from all the water

anyone have any ideas?

my pillars are dry
my back speaker is dry
my trunk is completely dry
my passenger side is completely dry

Thanks

If it was mine id temporarly remove the rear seat and all or as much of the plastic trim as possible as well as everything in the trunk and let it dry. Dry the inside of the car then get in the back with a good flashlight while a friend hoses the car down so hopefully you can find your leak. What else can you really do. Good luck i hope can get it resolved.

It is likely the taillights. There is a thread on this. I just noticed the same thing on my 2013 Rspec with 24,000 miles. One of the (temporary) fixes is to tape across the top of the taillights where you'll see a gap. That's what I did yesterday. I left the car open, after soaking up the 1/2 inch of water in the trunk, in the sun and mostly dried. Some have used silicon sealer. I'm going to check with my service department to see if there is some kind of warranty fix.

Do you have a sunroof? And you made sure the trunk is dry? You checked the drivers side area by the rear back window, that is a common area that water can get into.

Another place to check which is typically written off is the fuel filler area, sometimes water will seep behind it and into the drivers trunk area or possibly the back seat.

Take out the back seat, and if you can remove the inside rear panel. Get in the car and have someone run water from the top down.

Like ominousone said, It's more than likely the taillight. A lot of people have this issue and I personally saw it in 2 of 3 cars that I test drove before buying mine. The easiest fix is to tape above the taillight and add some sealant around the seals of the taillight. I also removed the drain plugs in the trunk to let whatever water gets in to drain out instead of running up under the seats.

It happened to me and the dealer fixed it. The issue was at the top corner on the trunk. Here are some pictures. I believe they just glued it or something.

Hey Guys I wanna thank everyone for their reply and pictures

I had to call my insurance company because my back seat actually had mold at the bottom of it of how long the water has been there which i didnt even notice because i never have back passengers until i took out the seats and got a good wiffff of it

They will replace the back seats , clean everything , check the carpet in the front for any damages

of course i need to pay the 1000$ deductible

My carpet had mold and the dealer replaced it at no cost. See if they can do the same for you. You can replace everything but if the issue is not fix you are going to have water again. I went 3 times to the dealer before they actually fixed it.

I'd be hesitant to use silicone to seal the tail light as it would make it almost impossible to remove. They do have a clear removable sealant made for temporary household use. It will seal but is easy to remove. I just re tape mine every other year.

Had you brought it in multiple times? Did they manage to fix it?
