Now it's time to have some fun

Bought my 3.8 about 4 years ago and recently paid it off. Seriously considered trading up but opted to sink a few dollars in performance goodies into the coupe instead. Came with a Magnaflow CBE. I added test pipes, an injen sri and megan trans mount.
...Dropped down to a 35 profile tire for shits and giggles and to find out if 3.91 gearing would liven things up. Most definately does. A lot of fun indeed. Had some eibach lowering springs installed. Not too sure if this is ideal with a 35 profile tire though. Rides rough which I can tolerate but it might be just a hair too low now. Probably pick up a rear pumpkin from Titan and go back up to a 45 profile.
...Tomorrow I'm ordering a sprint booster. This should really be entertaining with the lower gearing. Then rims and tires and a lighter flywheel.

Yup....slowly but surely. Ordered some rear Bilsteins last night. Was planning on buying some rims next..but today I'm ordering a sprint booster. I really want to see how well it works with the 3.91 gearing.
...speaking of the gearing difference I noticed I have been having a problem doing the speed limit lately lol. I found a reputable race/performance shop 2 hours away that all the gear heads give praise. He actually lowered my car. Installed the springs and did an oil change in 1.5 hrs. I got him to inspect the driveshaft rubber couplers and he showed me that they are in great shape. I expect to be there a lot..lol

IMO, the coupe is a pretty good platform, the suspension is decent, but the powertrain is lacking and subpar, and have to sink so much more money to get it to decent power, and even more to make it last; compared to other ones.

If I had the time, I would yank out everything (wires, gauges, powertrain, computers, interior) and fit something else, that was a crate motor kit with wiring.

With how the speed/abs sensors works on this car, it makes it really easy to wire up a speedo, everything else would just be motor dependent.

I felt the same way about the power level when running the 3.55 gearing. As others have mentioned on here ...and just in general...a gearing swap is what's needed to give the coupe a kick in the ass that its always needed. The difference in bottom end snap and midrange power is much improved.
...When I am merging on to a highway/ interstate in 4th and rev it to redline the difference in acceleration is awesome. I get used to power easily but feel with the gearing change, sprint booster and a lighter steel flywheel...this should keep me satisfied.

Screw the 3.909: gears , go with the 4.18:1 gears and 285/35/19's or in a 18''.4th rear diff mount .I purchased A FENDER ROLLING/FLARING TOOL for $75.00 to fit wider rear RE71r sticky tires because spinning with little d!p $h!t OEM size rims and tires is like a sexy woman that don't want to give up ,no fun at all. With supporting mods the bitch will run good without N2O 0r Turbo Kit .
