My 2010 coupe is the base version with no strut bar. What parts do I need and from which model to be able to use the leash. Can I just order a drivers side strut bar brace off of a track or r spec model. Or could I just fabricate something to make the leash fit?
The leash will just mount on a piece of metal secured by two of the strut tower studs. What engine? You can get the factory strut bar and mounts for a reasonable price.

Ordered a drivers side strut bar bracket from the local hyundai dealer. Going to install the engine leash and atq rear differential bushing kit at the same time.
Just installed the drivers side strut bar bracket from a r spec on my base coupe. Should have the leash soon. Just curious about something.
...The bracket that comes with the leash is designed to sit on top of the strut bar end. Since I do not have the strut bar itself...the cable will be sitting a little lower than normal....which is the thickness of the strut bar end itself.
...Is this going to matter. Or should i add a small plate(shim), to go where the strut bar end would go to raise the height of the cable slightly?
Ideally you would want the cable to be level. Any angle will decrease the effectiveness slightly. You want just a tiny bit of slack so it does not transmit vibrations at idle when stopped. But not so much there is any excess movement when you gas it hard.

Ok..thanks. I will either make up a plate to go between the strut bar bracket and leash or even just stack some washers on the 2 strut bracket studs then add the leash bracket.
Interesting, I don't think I have ever seen a model of GenCoupe come without a strut bar.
The strut support bracket is maybe 2-3mm thick. That difference is very minuscule.
