Decided to go with the Atq differential bushing kit teamed up with the 3.8 performance engine leash. This should be an awesome combo to help get that power to the ground.

Do as you please .The best way for the 4th diff bushing has been gone over time and time again .Install the appropriate size steel sleeve ( weld )into the subframe, purchase a oem rear diff bushing with washer and bolt and install, done .I have pic's of my set up in the GDI nitrous thread page 16 .

Keep us in the loop as to when you receive that kit. I mean, it looks good(great, even), but ATQ has a history here of being a bit slow to deliver on their admittedly above average parts. I'd love to hear they've improved!

OOOf, be careful. My buddies failed once on a road trip resulting in some clunking, then all of a sudden, the rear cover got smashed open by the shock and it was good night nurse.

I have noticed for the last few years that when I'm accelerating through the gears then letting off the gas, a light thumping coming from the rear. I assume this is the differential moving around?

Yep.If you look at the diff from the rear, you could also see how the unsupported side hangs lower .

I saw a video awhile back ,which of course I cannot find now, of a guy who stuck a go pro under his coupe facing the differential. The amount of movement is freakin scary! I cant wait to get mine stiffened up. The difference should be very obvious in an improved ride

Yeah, truth be told, the 4th diff mount mod isn't really optional, as driving hard will eventually result in the stock system failing prematurely. It's one of the more terrible design flaws in the Gen. Many vehicles with 3-point diff mountings exist, but I've never seen one as laterally unbalanced as the coupe's.

When I had new rims and tires installed the mechanic showed me that the resonator on the magnaflow cbe had been making contact with the driveshaft even though there was clearance when he pointed it out to me. He also showed me the movement in the differential bushing. So under acceleration/ de-acceleration...that differential must be getting real sloppy causing contact between the exhaust and driveshaft I would imagine.

After modding my 2014 R-spec I took it down a side road to do some test hits , during the first launch I heard a loud thump .I made no other test hits and returned home, with my car on jack stand I figured the 3 point mounting of the diff was the problem .My diff was poorly supported and was moving around .The wider sticky tire combo made the problem worse .Next day at work I machined my 4th mount metal sleeve (after take measurements ) , cut out the proper location in the sub frame and weld it in place .Ordered my bushing and bolt/washer .Installed said items and never had another problem .Hyundai should have done this from the factory, like the sedan model has in place .The single puny 14 mm rear diff bolt is just plain stupid .The crazy part is, you don't even need to be hard on you GC to need this mod, All Gen Coupes diff's sags on the right rear .
