I think it's been overdue for Chevy to make their corvette a mid-engine car. From the specs it has and the price, it's going to be a big seller. Chevy made a high-performance mid-engine car that won't completely destroy your bank account. The only I wish it had was awd and maybe a bit more horsepower. What do you guys think about the new Corvette C8?

AWD would bring the cost up as well as weight. Who needs another overpriced POS GT-R. Mid engine helps alot with rear traction, AWD would just ruin the car.

Might get one when I get old, 5-10 years from now...for cheap at salvadge auction lol

In a way, Camaro took place of what Corvette used to be.
Best performance is achieved with dual clutch auto. I would only imagine that designing manual option from ground up for C8 will be very costly....while majority would sell with auto.

While I have to agree with everyone else on not really wanting an AWD option, if you want more power I suppose you could wait for the Z06 and ZR1s to release, assuming they do go that route eventually. Of course in doing so, you will no longer be at that 60k msrp range for the base Stingray I am sure. I wonder if this will go the route of something like the GT350/350R and end up well over MSRP during its initial launch.

Now that's a car. Except for the DCT, this is exactly what the Vette should have been all along. I remember seeing the Corvette Indy Concept back in the '80's. It was all set to go and then they pulled the plug on it. Real shame, put it back 30 years.

I'm not a Corvetter guy but

that 60K price tag is really needed for the industry. the Japanese and European coupes are way too pricey noways to be mainstream and give so little power and performance

this (near supercar, near ferrari styling for 60K) is a step in the right direction.

Hope it do well so when Hyundai-Kia decide to bring back the Coupe they keep it a good price range and give it powerful engine and not half-assed it like with the Stinger/G70.

That's more of of driver error than a car.
Inexpensive driver with too much power, trung to show off. Stability control should be used on those unless you have seat time on the track.
